the only reason you could think segregating some students makes sense, is if you think some people shouldn’t in society at all. Ergo, if you're saying A-, or anyone like him, should be segregated then what you're actually saying is A- and people like him should always be segregated, even as an adult, out of society.

@mashagessen.bsky.social ‘s piece made me realize I was well intentionedly taken in by the idea of making the “less evil” choice to save some. So I made this meme about how the less evil choice won’t save anyone, and will power authoritarians.

Focusing on a “better than ABA” framework, like SCERTS, to “teach #autistic kids” is a way to keep autistic kids warehoused. A framework, no matter how nice it is, is dehumanizing. It says all allistic kids can learn together, but the autistic ones are “special” so they have to learn over here.

NYC pays 5 disabled artists to make public art. Which is nice. But this city keeps disabled students away from everyone else - so much that we’re the only city that even has a seperate district just for them - and then when disabled people are adults with a lifetime of segregation we say “nice art!”
