An excellent blog post, I find it so very relatable in a way that's hard to put into words.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that her name is a reference to Charle de Gaulle.

I (mostly) read all your posts! But I feel awkward engaging when I'm not personally familiar with the post's subject. (Both for videogame and lamentations)

It does happen, it is a beautiful song. (I only ever listened to French versions though. I would be curious to listen to the one you found.)

I really like your style, it's always soft and gracious. (I should rewatch texhnolyze someday, what a nightmare of a anime.)

Already blazing past UV I see! Is the flat shading on purpose?

I was thinking of buying a blåhaj lately, but I don't know if I would use it that much. I already sort-of hug my blanket.

I wonder how funny it would be to have some text have their font randomized each time.

That's so cool! I wish I could go travel and camp on bike, but my social anxiety keeps me from doing for now. Deciding where to go is definitively a dilemma, so many things to see. You may already know it, but there is a bike-route network called EuroVelo. One of them follow the camino trail!

That's great! I don't know how it is where you live, but over in France, the sense of freedom I get from biking is still thrilling.

It's the 3D cursor, it is where new objects (like new cubes) spawn. it is also used by some tools and functionality. You can use "shift S" => "Cursor to world origin" to put it back where it was.

The red and white circle is useful, but mostly unimportant. The yellow/orange dot is very important though.

You're learning quick! Rigging can indeed be nightmarish, I have been happily using a plugin to skip most things I can.

Last time I read about Nix, I did not understand anything which leads me to believe it wasn't made for mere mortals (non developers) like myself. By comparison I have installed and used Arch successfully, once upon a time. (Also, I think the Nix governance situation was ugly lately?)

I find AI pictures of food in restaurants really off-putting, like some kind of uncanny valley. I want fake photographs back!

It was okay for its time, but I feel that it could be done better. Maybe an open-world remake of the sheep herding minigame is what we really need right.

Is it the crab, the centaur, or the shadow? (I almost don't remember any other, which means they were probably fine).

It's hard to get away with murder nowadays, especially if the victim's last activity is playing your game. Maybe a threat that's more vague with plausible deniability? Rather than illegal, you could also go the legal route, and threaten to sue.

I had to look up what 3 layers/black core were, that's crazy! I thought all decks were the same. I'd like to feel the difference, but I already have way too many standard 52-card decks to buy a new one.

I was ready to say that ~30€ was already much higher than what I would be willing to pay, then I indeed saw it was a cultist simulator deck of card. It's pricey, but it is really good looking. A shame about the aspects things.

When you say lot of money, do you mean 220€? :3c cardtopia.com/eu-fr/grimau... I am in the same situation with mahjong, my friends actually bought me a set but I don't have anybody to play with. (And mahjong clubs are not an option for now because of my social anxiety.)

The never-ending cycle : buy a bag of candy, eat it all in a rabid fit of gluttony, get stomachache and swear to never buy candies ever again, then inevitably buy another bag later.

That's a really good point, I just close any video compilations nowadays, I can't trust the curation. Thanks for the insight. Personally, I wish discussions focused less on AI as a stand-alone problem and more on its relation to capitalism. (I may just not look at the right place.)

I don't think that everything has been said, but I agree that posts about it have been getting stale. I also wonder if it's just how it goes; I wasn't really using social media during the NFT/Crypto boom, discussion may have been just as stale at the time?

Random thought: If something can be the "honest truth", can something be a "dishonest lie"? And is it better to be told a "dishonest truth" rather than an "honest lie"? I think I would rather keep my truths and lies simple.

I know you asked for annual salary, but I found monthly numbers (on the observatoir des inégalités website). In my head, developers are well paid, so I would say 30 to 25% of the population, which should correspond to 2600 to 2900 a month after taxes?

3D Adventure #19: I have not achieved anything in particular, but it needs to be said : the worst part of rigging is doing maths (or whatever it is I'm doing in that screenshot).
A screenshot of blender (3D software). Many different menus are open, lists, node systems...

Have you considered bouldering? I have been doing it for years for this exact purpose, and I am happy with it. It is a bit pricey though (by my standard, I don't know how expensive sports are generally.)
