For a moment, I thought this one was going somewhere else.

3D Adventure #19: I have not achieved anything in particular, but it needs to be said : the worst part of rigging is doing maths (or whatever it is I'm doing in that screenshot).
A screenshot of blender (3D software). Many different menus are open, lists, node systems...

3D Adventure #18: Did the eyes controls. It's crazy how much life can be given to a character just by moving a texture around. The next step would be adding other expressions, but I may not really need it for the animation I have in mind, so we'll see.

Putting efforts into avoiding clipping like this might be overkill for a simple low-poly character. Next step is creating a system to change eyes position and facial expressions.

3D Adventure #17: It's been a while since my last post! It's not that rigging was three-weeks hard, it's more that I really let myself go. The rig was made thanks to the CloudRig addon for blender. It's really neat.

The character has a pose of sort, showing off that its body is rigged.

3D Adventures #16: I mainly worked on the head's geometry and textures. I realised I spend way too much time on trying to get a particular facial expression right (no the one on the images), so I'll stop there and work on it later. Next step is rigging.

The character's geometry is finished, the texture is overall finished but the overly simplistic style won't change.Image of a different camera angle, showing the character's tail.

Current mood: I tried doing that thing they call “vent art”, but I think that it demands a bit more effort than that. The small person inside a bottle-person is a good idea though.
Some scratches, I can't call that sketches.

3D Adventures #15: Some things are not working as well as I'd hope. The character's clothes colour makes it look like a pyjamas, and the face geometry makes some angles a bit awkward.

The character's geometry is finished, the texture is unfinished but the overly simplistic style won't change.

3D Adventures #14: It may look very similar to the #13 post, but I actually almost entirely redid the model, I did not like the proportions. Next step is going to see how it looks with some textures.

For now, only the geometry is visible done.

3D Adventures #12: I am generally not one for posting reaction .gif, but in this case it's hard not to think about The Emperor's new groove Kronk's “Oh yeah, it's all coming together.” Needless to say, I am happy about how the ground turned out.

Daily photo post challenge #128. Analogue photograph taken by my parents in August 2002. I like the sky and the small sun. You don't need much, sometimes.

Daily photo post challenge #127. This is what they call art. I am of course talking about the sculptures in the background.
A black and white digital photograph of what appears to be two old people sitting at a bench in a public space. They are each sitting on different side. There are several pigeons at their feet.
There is a huge monument in the background with fountains.

Daily photo post challenge #126. Christmas 2001 at the grandparents. I like how the bright colours of the domino game contrasts with the off-white floor and curtain and the generally earth colours of the clothes.

Several people are gathered around the domino track, only their lower half can be seen.

3D Adventures: It's hard to concentrate with the jaw-pain, I still managed to do some things here and there. I found a pretty good way to produce transparent leafs textures without much effort. Arranging them well in the scene will still take time though!
A screenshot from Blender, a 3D software in which a scene is being worked on.
The geometry is unfinished.
Textures are unfinished, some of them obviously tiles too much. They are purposefully low-res and with a limited colour palette.

3D Adventures #9: I finally did something about that accursed railing! Nothing left is untextured, now the next step will probably just be to refine each assets. Also, I'll use an incremental number for every 3D Adventure again, it'll be easier if I ever need to reference an old one.

Daily photo post challenge #120. Photo taken by my parents in April 2001. I forgot to post about the fun fact I mentioned in 3D Adventures #5! It's pretty simple, this is the photo which I extracted the colour palette used in the textures of the 3D Adventures.

Daily photo post challenge #118. Photograph taken by my parents around Spring 2001. I imagine the photograph was judged a failure at the time, but today it looks like a happy accident.
An analogue colour photograph of a beach. An overwhelming light leak (?) has coloured almost the whole frame orange/red. The sand is orange, the sea is red, and most of the sky is orange, save for a bit at the top that looks just a bit blue.

Daily photo post challenge #112. Because I almost ran out of analogue photos of my own (until the next batch), I have decided to post some old ones from my parents'. This one is from August 2001, I chose it first because it was my profile banner before. I like really it, it makes me kind of wistful.
An old colour analogue photograph shot in August of 2001. It's a shot of trees from bellow, the sky is a stark monotone white that filers through the leaves.

Daily photo post challenge #111. It's going to be nothing but photos of mostly architecture, mostly with perpendicular geometry and symmetries, all of it taking place in my favourite district in the world for the next two weeks!
A digital photograph taken from the entrance of a building and is looking toward the street. The entrance is under a building, a bit under the street level, so the photo can be divided in three parts.
The top is the ceiling of the entrance and the bottom of the frame has a stair to access the entrance. The middle of the frame, the brightest part, not being in the shadow, is the street. It is large, and almost empty, nothing stands between the photograph and the other buildings apart from some brick fences.
There's a man, the only person in the photo, walking with his dog on a leash.

Daily photo post challenge #109. I always loved walking around this district and often compared it to the video-game Mirror's edge, although the two may seem aesthetically very different. I think I finally found a concise way to express why: they are basically both outdoor liminal spaces.
A digital photograph of some buildings. The main construction material is raw concrete and glas windows, with no paint in sight. Everything goes from tired white to mid-gray. There are graffiti on some walls.
There's almost no urban furniture, which makes walking around feel a bit empty and lifeless.

Daily photo post challenge #108. It's a photo of a protest. I decided to keep the colours of the light leak (?), it makes the photograph a bit more visually interesting.
What was supposed to be a black and white analogue photograph had a discolouration problem due to light leak (probably?).
The photo was taken during a demonstration. There are protesters on the lower part of the frame on the street level, the photography was taken from there. Some people are watching the protest from their balcony.
