Random thought: If something can be the "honest truth", can something be a "dishonest lie"? And is it better to be told a "dishonest truth" rather than an "honest lie"? I think I would rather keep my truths and lies simple.

3D Adventure #19: I have not achieved anything in particular, but it needs to be said : the worst part of rigging is doing maths (or whatever it is I'm doing in that screenshot).
A screenshot of blender (3D software). Many different menus are open, lists, node systems...

Thinking about how unable I am to gracefully accept when somebody make a good point. I hate my need to one-up people when discussing things.

My posts are always so self-serious, no whimsy at all, just pure business. I wonder what it says about me.

3D Adventure #18: Did the eyes controls. It's crazy how much life can be given to a character just by moving a texture around. The next step would be adding other expressions, but I may not really need it for the animation I have in mind, so we'll see.

3D Adventure #17: It's been a while since my last post! It's not that rigging was three-weeks hard, it's more that I really let myself go. The rig was made thanks to the CloudRig addon for blender. It's really neat.

The character has a pose of sort, showing off that its body is rigged.

3D Adventures #16: I mainly worked on the head's geometry and textures. I realised I spend way too much time on trying to get a particular facial expression right (no the one on the images), so I'll stop there and work on it later. Next step is rigging.
A screenshot from Blender, a 3D software in which a low-poly character is being worked on.
The character's geometry is finished, the texture is overall finished but the overly simplistic style won't change.Image of a different camera angle, showing the character's tail.

Current mood: I tried doing that thing they call “vent art”, but I think that it demands a bit more effort than that. The small person inside a bottle-person is a good idea though.
Some scratches, I can't call that sketches.

3D Adventures #15: Some things are not working as well as I'd hope. The character's clothes colour makes it look like a pyjamas, and the face geometry makes some angles a bit awkward.
A screenshot from Blender, a 3D software in which a low-poly character is being worked on.
The character's geometry is finished, the texture is unfinished but the overly simplistic style won't change.

3D Adventures #14: It may look very similar to the #13 post, but I actually almost entirely redid the model, I did not like the proportions. Next step is going to see how it looks with some textures.
A screenshot from Blender, a 3D software in which a low-poly character is being worked on.
For now, only the geometry is visible done.

Daily photo post challenge #130. I'll have to post a bit less until I can develop the next batch of analogue photo, I have truly run out of interesting things to post. Maybe I'll replace it with something else?

Daily photo post challenge #129. It would be the heist of the century, for somebody.
A digital photograph of a building which the outer layer is entirely made out of one-way glass with no windows, apart for the one visible in the center of the photo. The shapes of the building are very angular.

Daily photo post challenge #128. Analogue photograph taken by my parents in August 2002. I like the sky and the small sun. You don't need much, sometimes.
An analogue colour photograph of a beach. Some figures can be seen far in the background, either sitting on the sand or the nearby grass. The sun is setting, it appears very small.

Daily photo post challenge #127. This is what they call art. I am of course talking about the sculptures in the background.
A black and white digital photograph of what appears to be two old people sitting at a bench in a public space. They are each sitting on different side. There are several pigeons at their feet.
There is a huge monument in the background with fountains.

Daily photo post challenge #126. Christmas 2001 at the grandparents. I like how the bright colours of the domino game contrasts with the off-white floor and curtain and the generally earth colours of the clothes.
A colour analogue photograph taken during 2001 christmas. There are colourful plastic dominos on the floor, ready to be pushed.
Several people are gathered around the domino track, only their lower half can be seen.

Daily photo post challenge #125. It's not a good photograph, but I think it is a fun one to look at. It's like I accidentally caught a ghost on camera, or the butterfly's jojo stand.

Daily photo post challenge #121. A little interruption to the perpendicular architecture photo series for a sparrow. I was lucky to get it, three of them just landed at less than one meter from me, I (almost) just had to press the shutter button!
A digital photograph of what is almost certainly a female house sparrow. It is on the edge of step. The background is just grey pavement.

Daily photo post challenge #120. Photo taken by my parents in April 2001. I forgot to post about the fun fact I mentioned in 3D Adventures #5! It's pretty simple, this is the photo which I extracted the colour palette used in the textures of the 3D Adventures.

Daily photo post challenge #118. Photograph taken by my parents around Spring 2001. I imagine the photograph was judged a failure at the time, but today it looks like a happy accident.
An analogue colour photograph of a beach. An overwhelming light leak (?) has coloured almost the whole frame orange/red. The sand is orange, the sea is red, and most of the sky is orange, save for a bit at the top that looks just a bit blue.

Daily photo post challenge #117. Another thing I like about my favourite district in the whole world is that it feels like (I have not formally checked) that each building's architecture is truly different from each others, while still forming a coherent whole.

Daily photo post challenge #112. Because I almost ran out of analogue photos of my own (until the next batch), I have decided to post some old ones from my parents'. This one is from August 2001, I chose it first because it was my profile banner before. I like really it, it makes me kind of wistful.
An old colour analogue photograph shot in August of 2001. It's a shot of trees from bellow, the sky is a stark monotone white that filers through the leaves.
There is a red light streak in the center-left of the frame, due to a light leak.

Daily photo post challenge #111. It's going to be nothing but photos of mostly architecture, mostly with perpendicular geometry and symmetries, all of it taking place in my favourite district in the world for the next two weeks!
A digital photograph taken from the entrance of a building and is looking toward the street. The entrance is under a building, a bit under the street level, so the photo can be divided in three parts.
The top is the ceiling of the entrance and the bottom of the frame has a stair to access the entrance. The middle of the frame, the brightest part, not being in the shadow, is the street. It is large, and almost empty, nothing stands between the photograph and the other buildings apart from some brick fences.
There's a man, the only person in the photo, walking with his dog on a leash.

Daily photo post challenge #110. I would rather post thematically distinct photographs each day, but with my dwindling backlog, beggars can't be choosers.
A black and white photograph of a building shot from bellow. There's no visible clouds in the sky.
There is two visible parts to the building : one is just walls, no windows. By contrast, the other is glass from top to bottom, presumably housing a staircase.

Daily photo post challenge #109. I always loved walking around this district and often compared it to the video-game Mirror's edge, although the two may seem aesthetically very different. I think I finally found a concise way to express why: they are basically both outdoor liminal spaces.
A digital photograph of some buildings. The main construction material is raw concrete and glas windows, with no paint in sight. Everything goes from tired white to mid-gray. There are graffiti on some walls.
There's almost no urban furniture, which makes walking around feel a bit empty and lifeless.

Daily photo post challenge #108. It's a photo of a protest. I decided to keep the colours of the light leak (?), it makes the photograph a bit more visually interesting.
What was supposed to be a black and white analogue photograph had a discolouration problem due to light leak (probably?).
The photo was taken during a demonstration. There are protesters on the lower part of the frame on the street level, the photography was taken from there. Some people are watching the protest from their balcony.

Daily photo post challenge #107. The part beyond the shopping cart smelled truly horrible, I was bracing myself to either find faeces, or a corpse. There was no corpse, there might have been faeces but it was too dark to tell.
A digital photograph of an access ramp going into the ground. The access ramp takes a turn to the left, into darkness. There are graffiti on the walls and a turned-over shopping cart on the way.
There's a man walking on the street ground, above the ramp. The photo is taken so that the man is vertically aligned with the cart.
