This horrific ruling in the UK went into effect today. Trans people can't use the right bathroom or be in the right hospital ward. Their bodily functions are being policed by people like JKR. Monsters. Stand with trans friends. They need all of us. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

JKR and her new org apparently helped get the new Amnesty International report on how TERF organizations destroy lives taken down from their site. Well, guess what? The Streisand Effect is real. Here's the entire report in a thread. Read it. Share it.

Two year anniversary of when I first posted this comic

Two panel comic. Panel 1: an anglerfish is washed up on the ocean shore, laying in the tide. It thinks to itself, “it’s so beautiful.” Panel 2: wide shot of the beach, rocky cliffs, and sky at sunset, with the anglerfish still laying in place. The anglerfish continues thinking to itself, “I might have never known.”

I feel there's this phenomenon of fans trying to change canon while merging with fanon in a way that dismisses the original creator's intentions. If you have your own interpretation of things and enjoy a different characterization then that's cool! Self indulging is neat, dont have to impose it tho

The fact that the Kid Lit ambassador wrote this is genuinely bananas. We are under fire on all sides, and that means PICK YOUR WORD CAREFULLY, because you are the KID LIT AMBASSADOR who should maybe be aware that this is an easily pulled quote.

Genuinely, their database is so utterly borked and insane--I don't know how any of this is going to play out. Again, when I spoke to them on the phone and they agreed there were many mistakes in it, they said, and I quote: "Coding is hard."

I want to be clear that I don’t have anything against any of their books. Publish all the books you want, but don’t market them by shitting on other people‘s work. In the midst of an unprecedented national book banning crisis, anyone calling any book unclean is carrying water for censors.

From the Simple Sabotage Field Manual: (a) sabotage is more than malicious mischief, and it should always consist of acts whose results will be detrimental to the materials and manpower of the enemy. (b) The saboteur should be ingenious in using his every-day equipment.

I forgot a wild detail on this: on the site, you can either submit on a webpage or download the excel sheet they've made and upload it by clicking upload bulk claim form. When I got to the giggling supervisor, he was SHOCKED to know there was an upload button on that page for the excel sheets.

So, here is my basic Anthropic story. In February, I submitted 14 books (some others were too complicated to submit) to the settlement. I got to the last page and...nothing. But it seemed to be finished. I got no confirmation number. Then, a few weeks ago, I got an email saying I had no submission..

So the AI company who stole all of of books and now has to pay us what is really a small amount of money went about ti by AI coding the backend of their claim system, which scraped up data in clumps and spits out new numbers all the time because...it is AI coded. Anthropic: Nailing It.
