Does Mandarin have a particle of anger? One Japanese X user claimed 95% of why Chinese sounds "scary" to Japanese ears comes down to a single particle, 啊 (a). Instead of a fight, Japanese and Chinese speakers agreed and started comparing notes.

The Chinese character 啊 glowing red over a backlit blue shoji screen, with the shadow of a hand pressed against the paper.

Happy 1 year anniversary to Pokemon Legends Z-A! I don't have any cool art except this one of my EX-Team Flare OC Manzana when we first found out Team Flare members like Mable were still around lol

my OC Manzana quite upset as he says "FU-" but the rest of the words are obscured behind his head. In the background is official art of Mable from Pokemon Legends Z-A along with the blue Team Flare emblem that's visible on Mable's laptop in game.

imo, the hardest part abt living today is the constant reminder that, when ppl feel scared abt their future/security, their instinct is to become cruel. even "kind" people. so much eagerness to revive old slurs. anxiety gets twisted into performing social othering, playing to the room with 😂 emojis

THERE ARE MORE OF THEM?

A ceramic bowl depicting a swarm of mice. Painted with big round cartoony eyes and cute little mismatched semicircle bodies. From Peru, Nazca culture, 180 BCE-500 CE, now housed at the Art Institute of Chicago (according to an unsourced reddit post that I did not bother to fact check)

Another cute art piece by the fantastic @ravenrabbit.bsky.social~!!! She drew my Pokemon Y protagonist with her Ace Pokemon Piani the Swalot! I'm sure they're celebrating because they don't have to deal with Team Flare and whatever it is Lysandre was going on about

Commissioned art by RavenRabbit of my Pokemon Y protagonist Zofie(Serena) on her knees and has her arms up and open wide as she smiles with her eyes closed. In front of her is her ace Pokemon Piani (a Swalot) turned to her trainer with a visible blush and a cute ribbon a top her head matching Zofie's outfit color.

Happy 100th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh and 20th anniversary of "sickos", apparently.

A black and white line drawing of Winne the Pooh (by A. A. Milne) sitting with a pot of honey on the left side of the image, looking to the right. On the right side of the image is the black and white cartoon (drawn by Ward Sutton for The Onion) of a creepy looking man pressing his face against a window and looking in (or in this case, towards Winnie the Pooh) with "sickos" written on his shirt and a caption reading "Yes... ha ha ha ... YES".

Normally this is when the player gets a badge for winning a gym battle, but since this is outside of the Rijon League, Nina gets a pokemon instead! Also I didn't clarify in the strip, but her choice was a Sneasel. #Pokemon #PokemonComics #PokemonNuzlockeChallenge #Comic #ComicStrip #4koma
