Omg that’s awful :( silver lining is that it happened on the way back??? I’ve had a family member experience the same thing on a flight TO somewhere and she wasn’t allowed to go on a flight home.

YEAH finding shinies on stream is so hype. You kinda have to choose between hunting only on stream, therefore likely hunting less, or have some offline hunts and risk finding a shiny without your community. Definitely prefer the latter, but man I gotta stream more lol

Stream chat is gonna hate that I found Mew and Omanyte offline and am probably gonna find hitmonlee and hitmonchan before I get back to streaming I thought the sickness was over I am still sick I refuse to not shiny hunt

Hmmmm that is tough. I think it’s really an individual thing though, cause I grew up with my main hobby being gaming up until high school. My entire family liked playing video games together as well, which is part of why Wii music and LBP made the cut. It’s ok not to have a ton of favourite games!

Didn’t feel like fossil hunting today so I decided I don’t HAVE to hunt for fossils until I find a different target on shield … 219 encounters. 30 encounters done today. I am forced to fossil

- FLIPNOTE STUDIO. I used to make animations of shaymin, Zorua, eevee, my own fanmade eeveelution, it was nuts. At one point I genuinely wanted to get into animation professionally because of this game. I’d like to find ways to bring my beginner animation skills into my work some day.

- LBP. One time I was up past my bedtime and my mom came into my room. I thought I was in trouble. She asked if I could join her and help finish a level. That was my first time playing video games with my mom, and far from the last. This game was also my introduction to player-made games.

- I can’t say kirby necessarily shaped my personality or anything but super star ultra introduced me to the kirby series, which I’ve loved ever since. - Wii music is still one of my fav Wii games because it feels intentionally silly. It was the precursor to me being obsessed with performing arts lol

Shiny Catherine @shinycatherine.com · 24/09/2026

- Explorers of sky was the first game to ever make me cry. It also inspired me to write stories. They were cringe. But my love for storytelling is still around nowadays. - Undertale is in a similar boat. I totally didn’t have a goner kid fan account. idk if that still exists lmao

Shiny Catherine @shinycatherine.com · 24/09/2026

- FireRed introduced me to Pokémon - Platinum really got me obsessed, and introduced me to some of my favourite Pokémon ever (Giratina, Girafarig, wooper, shaymin, and dustox). - ACNL was my first experience being in a gaming community and having online friends

9 games that shaped who I am (but bluesky gets a ramble for each game unlike Twitter lol)

I was really lucky cause I bought this game used and it had the event uncompleted, but I know that for English cartridges or Japanese ones that haven’t gotten the event in the first place, you can use arbitrary code execution. That’s what I was going to do initially

Shiny Catherine @shinycatherine.com · 16/09/2026

I’ve been sick for a week and have made zero progress in this hunt I don’t deserve good luck but Mew. Please.

Front page stream went really well! Sure, we didn’t find anything in the 6 hours we spent in the friend safari, but it was a blast! Also a surprising amount of people were unaware of twitch’s AI nonsense, so we helped a lot of people opt out of it 💪 Thank you to everyone who tuned in!

Twitch accepted my front page application and shortly afterwards pulled that AI nonsense 🙄 looking forward to hunting for wooper tomorrow with the occasional break to remind people to opt out of that stupidity YIPPEE!

I'd argue that, for the metrics, it's vastly MORE important that viewers turn this off. There's more viewers than streamers, so even if every streamer turned this off, if viewers don't, the executives can still claim that "most users don't care" and cram it down our throats even harder. Opt out.

Had a dream where shiny hunting was added as a category to the Pokémon World Championships and people were outraged cause it’s almost entirely luck based and the champion used the Fluttermane daytime spawn strat

Gonna keep my head up but man, it really hurts to start taking care of myself, just to end up having such a setback. I was proud of my 20k daily steps 😭 Physiotherapy, here I come! And I guess now I have more time to shiny hunt lmao

Basically just strengthen the muscles in the hopes that it resolves itself but otherwise 🤷🏼‍♀️ I really can’t handle the clicking though, so if it keeps up after a lot of physio I will have to look into surgical options. Ah well
