Still brings back my nightmare college job being home in West Virginia. Was supposed to be a surveyor's assistant, but he also owned a peach orchard, so I got derailed in picking peaches in short sleeves in 90-degree weather....very itchy!! Deer flies on the surveyor jobs were worse, to be honest.

Do you have burning eyes from the smoke? Remaining inside in air-conditioned enviro is helpful but about half outdoor smoke particulates can penetrate typical indoor spaces. Tighter-built homes have much less outdoor air while drafty houses or those w/ open windows more closely represent outdoors.

I actually created a small pandemic planning program way back in 2007 at the Office of Naval Research because I was obsessed with the Spanish Flu. My boss ridiculed me. We should not lose sight of the fact that a possible ground zero was an overcrowded Army base in Kansas combined with WWI.
