La Bottine Souriante was a pretty traditional Québécois string band all through the 70s and 80s. They started adding horns on a few tracks for "Je voudrais changer d'chapeau" (1988) and by "Jusqu'aux p'tites heures" (1991) the horns were there to stay and they were making Celtic/jazz fusion music
