Never mind eh. Hope you keep listening. I will.

My tone reflected my thoughts which were I need to stop this tiresome thoughtless person from defaming anyone else .

Extremism is still extremism when widely shared.

I felt sorry for the boy too. He and his victim ruined.

Shelagh Fogarty @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

I ended the call after a typical length of time but mainly because Frida was defaming people and wrongly linking them to particular organisations. That’s just doing my job. Hope this helps.

No I am not. To disagree isn’t to abhor.

Shelagh Fogarty @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

She isn’t and even I thought she was it’s my job on air not to allow random defamation of anyone. Just ask OFCOM and check out laws on journalism.

Shelagh Fogarty @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

I didn’t start from a BeKind place if by that you mean no discussion allowed. I’ve been talking about the issue on air for years and always recognise biological reality. That can be done with clarity and a respectful approach.

Shelagh Fogarty @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

Oh Julia we must fix that! Do you have a digital radio?

Shelagh Fogarty @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

Thankfully all fine but close shave!

PSA: Smoke alarms need regular testing so they work when you need them. Might sound obvious but a fire in my 4 flat building this weekend saw all smoke alarms fail except mine. Check your smoke alarm works 🔥 🚨

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

It’s great. Also take a look at The Hiding Place by Connie Ten Boom

“It's been underinvested in, steadily, for years & years...across governments, across many years — and you have to see it to believe it" Outgoing @NHSEngland chair Richard Meddings talks to Sunday Times Oli Shah www.thetimes.com/uk/healthcar...

I chaired the NHS and hardly believed it: sewage flows into sinks

The outgoing chairman of NHS England is full of praise for its staff but says the service is ‘sclerotic’ and relies too heavily on politicians

The hour wasn’t explicitly about calling Trump out though many did and I said several times it’s ethnic cleansing if forced plus impossible. Hamas are obvs not USA but they are Iran’s pawns and imo deadly to Gazans who want to live.

I very much don’t give them equivalence. For obvious reasons I’d have thought.

Back on air Wednesday 1-4pm. To borrow from @mrjamesob.bsky.social ….full disclosure, I had a bad cough for a bit but then it was jury service for seven days. Fascinating but exhausting. See ya tomorrow.

Yeah but in a whole series or indeed several series you’ll have preferences. Agree re Armisen.

Yes I came to Shandling via Seinfeld. Both brilliant men.

I think one day I’ll do a New York tour of all the coffee houses and cafes featured in #comediansincars

Apropos of nothing …Jerry Seinfeld has been a major contributor to my sanity over the last few years. #Seinfeld and #Comediansincars #netflix are just brilliant. I came to both late. If you need laughs you’ll find them here.

Did you ask your GP surgery about it? That’s madness

I was offered one on NHS and took it. Late 50s.

You’ll never hear me say any corner of media is always right

010

Shelagh Fogarty @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

We need to think hard about how we describe what’s happening in #NHS A&E/ Ambulance services. We can’t just talk about Winter pressure and flu numbers absent any context on bed numbers since 2010, staff sickness because they work in hellish places, vaccine messaging, GP/community/social care gaps.
