The imaginative machinations of my mind only VERY rarely give me images so conrete that I can draw almost all of it without reference. But even that only works because I often used reference before so that my intuition can fill more of the gaps (like approximate creature muscle placements & alike)

one of the best decisions you can make as an artist is to stop talking about your artwork from a position of defending it. the artists statement should be a tool of pride, community, and conversation, not an appeal to those who had no interest in (or ability to) understand it in the first place.

Kitbashing existing parts of sprite helps a lot when working with symetrical outfits! A few exceptions with his boots, layering on his face (behind, or in front of the shoulder cuff), but otherwise a pretty simple flip!
