Probably the best part of this video is the fact that whichever generative AI service this person is using that company is losing money on all (9?) of his agentic agents.

btw, I see the page headers have changed in your doc and it is subtle but I think it makes the page easier to read fwiw
screenshot of two pages side-by-side. one has a dark strip at the top and the other has a lighter strip. both pages use a a blue-ish monochrome design.

enjoying seeing the steady updates to your Star Wars toolbox. Seemed like you were playing Outlaws recently? Do you feel like you learned anything about running a smuggler/criminal focused game from playing it? I felt like it taught a bit about how to seed a Star Wars setting sandbox for RPG play.

To the person noting there is not enough money in the world to license every piece of intellectual property stolen for "AI" training: you're sooooo close to the point, friend, keep going, you'll get there if you try

I worked on a bunch of _large_ computational linguistic training dataset projects for machine learning systems for a few years (2005-2007) and it was all funded by DARPA. You didn't need much geopolitical/history knowledge to reverse engineer what they were hoping to do with the output.

thompsons were silly expensive to produce/procure and the BEF lost a bunch in france. the sten was much cheaper... the economics of stuff always sticks with me hence I remember this tidbit. :)

My memory, and I can't recall which book source ("Tank Action" I think) was that early war British tank crews were not issued SMGs. Mid-war some had access to thompsons but by late war stens were commonplace (that and captured mp40s because the sten had a discharging flaw.) Can't speak to B.

Well and then they shoot themselves in the foot by shipping it, then folks deploy stuff for it, and then in the standards community we hear “ahh, sorry we can’t update that because a major corporation/government is using it and depends on a quirk in the implementation.” lol.

But who knows… as Eric notes there’s a bunch of support in browsers for the weirdest legacy stuff.

Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if an urgent use case pops up that has been overlooked… that happens too. I’d imagine the remedy would be extending the timeline and working with the implementor(s) to migrate them on to another path rather than keep XSLT on the client side. :-(

See also: meyerweb.com/eric/thought... which goes into more of the process wonkery stuff. I’ll add that removing client-side XSLT support was a common discussion topic even in the 2010s.

No, Google Did Not Unilaterally Decide to Kill XSLT
The Web Discourse has been spicy of late, and XSLT is to blame. Well, sort of. It’s complicated.

When I worked on HTML5 Google and Microsoft staff were both keenly aware of how and where any given bit of the web platform is used, including intranets. (This is not a defense of removing XSLT from client side browser support just a note from the trenches…)

I've been enjoying the recent discussions around a popular misconception about PbTA and I'm wondering if there's one popular misconception about Fate you wish folks would unlearn or challenge their own assumptions about?

Does anyone at Apple actually use macOS as their OS? There are painfully obvious UX bugs that happen in the most common apps. Messages: resizing the open chat list is wonky as hell. Sometime the drag widget interaction to collapse the list from Icon+Name+Summary to just Icon does not work at all.

If an artist I follow collabs with someone new to me I will listen to their stuff to learn more about them. If someone says “hey listen to this” I will listen… regardless of genre. We are inundated with so much stuff these days though I don’t understand this rolling stone piece at all.

Electronic music has so many outlets: - traditional streaming: Apple, Spotify, etc - SoundCloud - bandcamp - discord/whatsapp private community releases - physical media only (vinyl usually but other…) - live show remixes/flips I do not have time to follow other genres of music to this degree.

I’m still trying to catch up to new electronic music released two or three weeks ago… there’s so much music now it is unreal.

Shawn Medero @shawn.medero.net · 28/09/2026
There’s way too much music released each week for me to have heard of or know what Choosin’ Texas is. This isn’t a flex, it is an acknowledgment that there are entirely genres of music I know diddly about because the genres I’m into have an overwhelming amount of music in them already.

The ice coffee discourse is really making me re-reflect on @dansinker.com's dansinker.com/posts/2026-0... I think that "everyone/everything social media as a product" has run its course. It is not functioning or working well for anyone anymore.

It has been interesting as a parent to see the shift in secondary education to embracing “test retakes.” The policies differ (unlimited retakes within a grading period to only if the grade was a C or lower and can only improve one letter grade) but the intention is always on the learning mastery.

Before you come into my mentions telling me kids need to be safer on their streets… 1. The infrastructure is actively hostile towards them. 2. The burden of safety should be on the person in the multi-ton vehicle not the kid without any protection at all.

Your local city officials need to try walking around the schools in their district at arrival and dismissal time. Have them explain to you why the behaviors people driving cars around kids walking, cycling, and scooting are ok. Every time I do this I see adults making the most batshit decisions.

Platoon Forward has some similar goals as your system (it is designed around World War II skirmish adventure games) -- the one area that it touches on a bit more than yours is the social dynamics between members of the platoon.

I'm really enjoying all of the examples you've been adding that help you understand how the game is a toolkit. (Also starship combat has been nortiously underserved in the sci-fi skirmish adventure game segment so seeing these is most welcome!) Have you ever read Platoon Forward from Joseph Legan?
