Opinion: Refusing MAID for mental disorders will come at a terrible cost
The government’s intention to bar those requests sends a message to mentally ill Canadians that they don’t have autonomy over their own death while every other grievously ill person does

Definitely intentional and certainly normalizing to keep the legal system frozen, ensuring it doesn't become a reliable justice system for survivors.

Constant line of rhetoric on the right, older than MAGA, Brexit, UCP, etc. It gets rebranded by each generation of insecure entitled people who fear equity and think rights are like pie, so "others" getting rights/services means a smaller slice for them, forgetting "others" are also paying taxes.

Our brain's immediate goal is to keep us alive. This is a survival mechanism to get us out alive. Triggered and flashback reactions are the replays to keep up safe in hopes of preventing reoccurences. The fact the law doesn't take this, or the retraumazing of survivors, into account is criminal.

How is that even possible? If you’re getting universal health care, you’re paying into the system through taxes regardless of where you were born. More likely is the ongoing agenda of privatization and dismantling of healthcare by the right. Always more expensive to fix after they try to break it.
