Swimming through your feeds: One of my fave oddball PS1 controllers: The Interact Baracuda. N64 style analog sticks, hardware level button remapping, and a mode to use them even for games that don't have stick support. Cursed looking start and select buttons that look like you need to turn them.

"Koihime" is a PC-98 ADV made by Silky's in 1995 that was later remade for Windows by Elf in 1999. While the PC-98 version featured sepia-colored BGs & a vertical textbox, the remake rolls with a horizontal textbox, full color BGs, & new char designs. Both have their charms!

There is an English fan translation of the PC-98 version (which is basically just a straight port of the 88 one) and a pre-patched disk image is linked here. Just need to poke around with one of the Neko Project emus to run it.

From a 2001 edition of Newtype's 100% Collection: Turn A Gundam in striking art nouveau. They clash, uncompromising... Series character designer Akira Yasuda was a Capcom veteran, handling both planning and character designs for many of their arcade hits of the 80s and 90s.

Wipeout 2097/XL is my nostalgic fave, but for PS1-era Wipeout? Wipeout 3 really does it for me these days. Especially in SE form.

The sticks have the same resistance levels as a tight-stick OG N64 pad, so it's an interesting experience feeling that for PS1 games.

This is one of those oddball pads that's actually pretty nice to use. Especially the sticks. The shoulder buttons are where those extra buttons go on the backs of some modern controllers.
