Thanks very much! And yes it absolutely can. I put way way too many hours into that piece. It was a style experiment and I got a good result but it was impractical.

I barely have enough time for social media throughout the day to manage the engagement I have right now. There have been at least three I'm going to abandon Twitter movements in the last year or two. Depending on how things go I will try to be here more often.

Getting close, but still work to do. I put 3 days into this style experiment. Trying to find a solid style that I'm happy with for black and white interior art. It's got character, but is way more work that I want to be doing. just too slow for an interior illustration.

My cat does that. He has a ridiculous number of folded blankets all over the house that he sleeps on, and he will stretch out and extend one paw off the blanket, touching a floor. It looks all for the world like he's waiting to have his nails done.

(4) if you look at objects with cutoff alpha from a distance (such as leafs on trees), and makes sure you don't get white contour edges.

(3) Since you still have access to all information underneath the alpha. Meaning you can still make adjustments or do some fancy shader trickery such as adjusting cutoff or alpha values. In addition it also works better with mipmapping for example..

(2). Both have their pros and cons. PNG in games is usually preferred for UI elements and such because it's easier to work with since you don't have to make sure your 4th channel also matches the others. But for textures to 3d models TGA (or other similar file extensions such as TIFF) are better

Found this which explains it better than I could. (1)."The difference between TGA and PNG is that TGA uses a fourth channel aside the usual RGB that contains a mask for the alpha values. While PNG uses the "missing" information inside the RGB to store the alpha"

When I was a kid, my mother would bring me scraps of posterboard from her factory job. We couldn't afford to purchase art supplies, so I sketched on anything I could. I have her to thank for any success I've had as an artist My take on a cover of the New Defenders did in the 80s
