Universities make concerted choices about the content they put on their websites - it is their face to the world 🌍 In our new paper led by @katrinamcchesney.bsky.social, we looked to see how parents are positioned in institutional websites in Australia and New Zealand. doi.org/10.1007/s107...

Putting a grant application together - finally getting back to some teacher retention work. Went looking for the impact of the framework I developed for my PhD. So surprised and humbled to find at least 25 studies in 9 countries that have adopted it☺️

Why is it only men who contact me through the thesisbypublication website to demand I list all the universities that offer a TBP (across the world??), how to apply, how much, etc. Seriously, if you can't look up info about programs yourself, you probably aren't cut out for doctoral research...

Many #Phdmums are telling us to wait until children are school age to embark on #doctoral study. I wonder how they might reflect on that later, because my gosh, two (pre)teen kids are using up way more of my time, money, energy, and waning sanity than when they were babies/toddlers during my PhD🤪

I'm genuinely surprised at how many #phdmums are advising against doing a PhD with kids or having kids during PhD. Really curious if any dads have ever been warned against pursuing doctoral studies, or advised to wait until the kids are older... 🤷
