Fact: there is no mythical network of side streets that can replace the protected bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University. (And if you insist otherwise, please show them to us on a map, thank you.)

While we await the details of the US trade negotiations, I'm urging the Prime Minister not to grant any concessions that would further undermine our economic independence.
Black text on a beige background: For the benefit of all the workers affected - in every industry from steel and aluminum to autos, forestry and more - a good deal with the US would be great news. But while we await the details, I’m urging the Prime Minister not to grant any concessions that would further undermine our economic independence.

We are dealing with a President who trades in chaos and unpredictability: there is no deal that will bring an end to the threats and uncertainty. For this reason, protecting Canadian workers without granting further unilateral concessions is essential.

And the Keystone XL pipeline is a concession that makes no sense whatsoever - for our economy, our sovereignty, or the climate. Earlier this year, the Energy Minister said repeatedly that he wants to help the US achieve “energy dominance”. This should obviously not be any part of a trade deal between our two countries.

Canadians are not in the mood for more giveaways to the Trump administration. Even if that means walking away from the table to protect Canadian workers and industries.

No deal is better than a bad deal.

1. This is about more than just tariffs 2. It may not have resulted in tariff relief, but it is 100% noticed 3. Why is it necessary to stock US booze? There are just as good or better alternatives 4. Should we also put Russian booze back bc their aggresion hasn't stopped?

Don't forget, Nieuport Aviation, who is lobbying for this and who is a terminal partner for Billy Bishop, is owned by JP Morgan Asset Management. Why should we sell out our interests to prop up American investments??

While the "consultation" is clearly biased to generate consent, it is important to still have your say! Fill out the survey and let them know that people should come before whatever perceived economic boost this might provide.

"Regardless of how you feel about expanding Billy Bishop.... It should be decided by Torontonians. Instead, the entire debate has taken place behind closed doors where it appears lobbyists working to get American bankers paid have been given a hearing the people of this city have been denied."😡

I really don't understand how investment in large renewable energy projects aren't part of the national interest projects or future investment - especially with the Strait of Hormuz shitshow. Even conservatives should see that's where the money will be even if the Earth is an afterthought!

I don't really understand the justification for a new agency when OSFI, FINTRAC, and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre already exist. If anything, if feels like its too spread out as it is. Just consolidate and expand the existing agencies' powers.

Not allowing ebikes in separated bike lanes is stupid. Any place with a strong biking culture - which I assume we are trying to cultivate - allows for this for safety and ease of mobility. Why do we put up unnecessary barriers in this city all the time, it's asinine.

This paragraph, though... www.theglobeandmail.com/life/article...
It’s not as though men are being displaced, and there’s no evidence that they’re being discriminated against. It’s that women, given the opportunity, have embraced higher education, spurred in part by the better jobs available to them with a degree. Men still earn more on average, even at younger age groups where the educational disparity is significant.

The moment the union defied back to work orders was when power was truly shifted back to the workers and Air Canada realized they were screwed, forcing them back to the bargaining table. If employers expect the government to step in every time a strike happens, they'll never bargain in good faith.
