disingenuous and utterly misleading reporting by RPS here: Discord did not suffer any kind of breach this is a completely-unaffiliated-with-Discord service

Gaming chat app Discord has suffered another user data breach, with a suspected 1 million email addresses stolen alongside (potentially many more) user IDs and IP addresses. While Discord was not targeted directly, third party security service Double Counter have reported a "deliberate, multi-stage attack" wherein hackers spent nearly six hours poking around their infrastructure before the vulnerability was closed.

Double Counter essentially acts as a bouncer bot for Discord servers, promising to detect and block unsanctioned alt accounts and prevent hostile 'raids' by large groups of malicious users. While its efficacy in that mission is debated by Discord users, and the service has previously been accused of selling user data for revenue, the fact is that Double Counter can collect and store personal info of the users that visit its 'protected' servers. Info that, now, has been partly or entirely nicked by Internet miscreants.

By Double Counter’s own estimates, around 1 million user email addresses have been affected, with databases of Discord IDs, usernames, IP addresses, and even location info for up to 28 million users also "partly" copied by the hackers. Security breach trackers Have I Been Pwned further report that 275,000 of the pinched emails and usernames have since been posted publicly.

Today I learned that baby cranes are called "colts" because their legs are so long and they can run around like idiots shortly after hatching. This is delightful, I enjoy knowing this.

Measuring your worth based on utility is dystopian, but even so you've added value to my life by being online, if that's any consolation. For real though get some rest and take a break if you need it, everybody does and says things they regret so don't think any lesser of yourself because of this.

Alright, so, I'm back from playing the new Deltarune chapter... It is indeed amazing and incredibly fun. Now, it is time to make fanart! Here is a scene I liked a lot. #FunGang #DeltaruneSpoilers #Chapter5

Kris, Susie and Ralsei from the game deltarune are in a Japanese-style pool room. A balcony opens up behind them showing a large sun setting over a field of pink flowers, and the foreground has various plants. Susie is submerged in the pool, only her snout surfacing to shower water over Ralsei's head. Ralsei's glasses float in the pool.

Made a new account since I was quite unhappy with the old one, there were far too many bad memories associated with it, and I feel like I'm in a much better part of my life now than I was 2 years ago. Probably won't be as active here as I was there, so please don't feel obligated to follow me back.
