"Not for Lack of Trying" #gpose #ff14 #ffxiv

A vieran man sits hopefully, a bouquet ready, at a dinner table. The sun is setting, late in the afternoon.

The vieran man waits, turned to watch for his assumed date, still clutching a bouquet. Time has passed and the sun has set, blue dusk in the sky.

The vieran man leans forward on the table, head resting on his hand, face obscured to the viewer. The bouquet has been set down. Time has further passed, turning from twilight to the first darkness of night.

The bouquet sits abandoned on the table, a rich night skyscape of Limsa Lominsa in the background.

thinking of letting my ffxiv sub drop for a time not to say that i've fallen out of love, but i think i need to take a break and come back when there are swaths of things to do again; trying to force interest isn't going so well with it

it crosses the border right between annoying and amusing to me that i can make WoW Balf look closer and closer to his proper grunkle-adjacent age, but FF demands he remain a perpetual Rabbit Twink male viera face 3, why do you curse me so

thinking openly because the recent wolqotd got me thinkin the reason I went so hard and then ended up burning out on FFXIV balf compared to wow balf is how they have grown, or Not grown like, both Balfs have the same core of being Fundamentally Unhappy and Not Nice people, (1/?)

Posting a little late, but for the sake of keeping my media tab fix'd, here's a Balfaz for @/shalarith! I'm kind of obsessed with these frosty blues, and I just. I just really like magic, y'all. Dracthyr are good and I want to see more of the well-loved ones ◊ #Art #Warcraft #Commissions ◊

Reference sheet for Balfaz the Cobalt, a dracthyr in visage form, with two views. He wears blue battle robes with silver trim and a large blue cape, has tan skin, icy ocean-hued gradiented horns, and deep sapphire hair with sandy colored ends. The left side has him standing ready with portal magic, facing the viewer at a slight angle, preparing for battle. The right side has him facing away, maintaining a prismatic arcane barrier, magic straining with the effort. The scene is set in Azure Span, with a snowy ground and tall trees.

#wolqotd balfja is Arrogant and Hermited; will focus on the first 1) he is, but only in retrospect 2) learning to depend on himself first and foremost, with most other 'reliable' people in his life dying or casting him out 3) arrogant magician stereotype :) 4) i try not to! but. maybe sometimes?

010

Shalarith, the Lizard Wizard @shalarith.bsky.social · 09/04/2025

#wolqotd balfja absolutely has the necessary agility and endurance to full-on Boogie Down and turn a dancefloor to rubber this is countered by the fact that he doesn't know how to actually Dance, however, so he's more likely to hover in the back than actually try and embarrass himself
