Humans make mistakes all the goddamn time, non-llm based computing tools can make mistakes (usually person induced) but bit-flips and hardware errors do exist. Mistakes happen, it's perfectly OK to make them. It's how you handle the mistakes and carry forward that matters.

I take less issue about "it makes mistakes" and more about the way they put a disclaimer as if it absolves them of any mistakes it may make. Anything can make mistakes, it's not about that. It's about how a company is expected to produce good quality work and this is not a sign of good quality.

The people who have disabilities saying they are less inclined to use AI is especially interesting considering 'accessibility' has been a common selling point that the AI-boosters use.

I think it's because your willingness to admit inability or show weakness reflects poorly on themselves when they can't handle the unknown or be weak in a similarly mature manner. It's like how some people get offended when you suggest they don't know something. Like dawg, nobody knows everything.

a window i made probably 10-15 years ago just came back to the shop because the owners moved and wanted the hanging loops reoriented so it can hang horizontally instead of vertically. i loved this one, what a joy to see it again!

“reposting” is v funny. you can have a whole relationship with someone online that’s effectively just printing out things they said and stapling them to the front of your house while otherwise never speaking to each other

Most 'authentic' for retro games IS on a CRT though. A lot of developers at that time intentionally designed their colors and assets with the drawbacks of CRTs in mind. Because of that certain games look objectively wrong when viewed on an LCD screen. I can't say the same for vinyl though.

That's the joke! Good job, honestly, very big effort from you connecting these two related concepts together and then sharing that excitement with everyone else. Impressive feat of human ingenuity and resolve. You're a beacon of inspiration to the morons of the world!

A photo of a cutaway showing the internal systems of the Muffaletta class sandwich. There are three central decks for personel (salami and ham) and the radiation shielding consisting of mozzarella and provolone cheeses. The remainder of the cutaway shows the signature hull of the Muffaletta class: French bread with an inner olive spread.

If a person has a big platform, they have a responsibility to behave in a way that minimizes the harm that platform can do. They need to disavow the bad behavior when they see it, and not participate. Not doing so is irresponsible and harmful.

writing the shitty code that helps me analyze something or test something is part of the fun and challenge to solve in my own manner. That's an art to me. Having the bot do it is so impersonal feeling and abstracts the journey and discovery away from myself.

Boatplugs @shadylink.lol · 25/09/2026
omg yes exactly. I get the "why don't you use AI" questions a lot when I'm doing reverse engineering streams and like, yeah it would probably make it faster or w/e but it's literally NOT fun to outsource the process to the chatbot. I'm doing this to learn and challenge myself, not to prompt an LLM.

i think one big factor (among many) as to why AI has had such a foothold in coding spaces is because the majority of people dont consider programming to be art

neither solution via proving your hypothesis or disproving it is wrong. A demonstration of confirmation bias? Absolutely.
000
Boatplugs @shadylink.lol · 25/09/2026
You can say it's modal logic but the issue I have is that the question is inherently lacking conditional context which forces the reader to confirm their own hypothesis. Then peter has the gall to say that's a 'wrong answer'. That pisses me off.
You are shown a set of four cards placed on a table, each of which has a number on one side and a color on the other. The visible faces of the cards show 3, 8, blue and red. Which card(s) must you turn over in order to test that if a card shows an even number on one face, then its opposite face is blue?
200
Boatplugs @shadylink.lol · 25/09/2026
Maybe it's just the way Wikipedia has it written but the logic puzzle is more consistent when the test 'minimum number of cards needed' is used.
100
Boatplugs @shadylink.lol · 25/09/2026
I mean yeah that too. But if we're just analysing the problem on purely a logical context if you only have four tests you should confirm all of them. It's illogical to say the rule fits only after flipping two cards.
100
Boatplugs @shadylink.lol · 25/09/2026
A bit of both. I'm not formally educated in the particular task and how it's used in studies but my initial thought is how any solution other than "turn them all over in any order" is a 'wrong' solve. You can't fit the test without flipping them all.

So if anyone is curious on how to use pixel art in a video with kdenlive: pre-render the segments containing your pixel art with 'nearest' interpolation and then import those to be used in the final render. This will keep your pixel art from getting smudgy :)
