My #WIPWednesday is a bead embroidered portrait of Phoebe Bridgers from her Lost Tour! I'm going to attempt my first beaded handbag by attaching it to this bag by removing a section of beads to accommodate my design.

So pleased with how this bead embroidered lily turned out! Every bead is stitched down individually by hand and I had to use my smallest beads to even get close to approximating the detail I wanted at such a small scale (the hoop is 3” diameter).

Ooh, yes! Fruits are so fun! I made some little fruits and foods this summer.

Also working on a fresh round of pet portraits. Here's an after/before of Susan's portrait--I reworked her eye to improve the proportion to the rest of her features, and have added in a section of fur that I think greatly improves the composition of the piece.

No bother! I love taking about this artform/supplies/etc.! I have the unbelievable good luck to live a few blocks away from a bead store so I buy most of my supplies there, but I supplement from Fire Mountain Gems and Barrel of Beads, both online stores that have a wonderful array of beads.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I had been badly languishing on this piece and have a totally renewed outlook after yesterday's progress. I also managed to hurt my shoulder because I don't have a frame to stitch in and am using an oversize hoop. I'm hoping I can find a way to stitch comfortably.

Got so much done on my double dog embroidered portrait yesterday! Hoping for another good day and will have the end in sight!

Finally have some good progress on this double dog portrait embroidery! It’s a reference to my favorite podcast, I Said No Gifts!, featuring the host’s pets.

My first finish of 2026 is deeply silly but I’m still happy with the likeness I was able to achieve of this Elrond and Frodo Lord of The Rings meme! I added a ribbon border to fit the matte board I chose (and somehow wildly missized), and like how the brass frame sets off the piece!

I am so so lucky to live just a few blocks away from a bead store here in Eugene, www.harlequinbeads.com. I have also used Barrels of Beads and Fire Mountain Gems for supplies but having an in-person option to check colors and finishes is so important for me.
