Going to take my time with this one: 'End Times Fascism and the Fight For The Living World," by @naomiaklein.bsky.social and @astra.bsky.social. Picked up at my local independent bookstore, Mosaic Books. 💪

Remember, don’t waste any time arguing whether #ClimateChange “caused” the current #wildfires. Like EVERY consequence of the #ClimateCrisis, we KNOW that EACH WILDFIRE is made much more likely, and much worse, by the rapidly changing conditions from Climate Change. MORE LIKELY AND WORSE.

Bike-lanes don’t cause traffic congestion. Car dependency, dumb land-use sprawl, too many (& bigger) cars being driven too much taking up too much space, highly subsidized driving costs, and not enough choices in how to get around, ALL cause traffic congestion. Think about it. THAT’S common sense.

I was equally perplexed by the tone of this. From the headline ("invest in removing ocean research instruments") to "saving taxpayers nearly $50M" but then also "unwind decades of effort." wth? Although I suspect that quoting Project 2025 and slamming NOAA's OAR perhaps reveals their true colours? 🤐

If you widen that highway you won’t reduce emissions or congestion. What you WILL do is spend a lot of public money to induce even more cars emitting even more GHGs and pollution in the same or worse congestion with people still demanding that you widen the highway. Period.
