Here's the problem going forward: Player prices are now through the roof. We are financially hobbled as a club now because of the debt and lack of deep runs in competitions/finishing low. We simply won't have the funds to rebuild to the elite level anymore. We had a window and we missed it.

I only watched the first half, but the team, for this entire season, does not look like it wants to be out there. I don't think there's anything worse than watching your team play like they're scared, or tired, or overwhelmed. This team looks like they're in a state of shock, every game.

The fans are done with him. It's over, the question is when does someone tell him that? This isn't middling through the start of a new season, this is catastrophically starting a new season that needed to be strong. The damage from a poor season this year could be lasting.

Did we really concede again a man up? Are we for real? ARE WE FOR REAL?!

I turned the game off. I have better things to do with my time than watch this lifeless team that just wants to collect paychecks. This is all Ole 2.0. The relief of a players manager coming in behind a taskmaster gets the mood up, and then the next season they mail it in. Clockwork.

This is it. Work shy. Great way to put it.

Mbeumo looks like something is wrong emotionally. It's that bad out there for him. He's weak, slow, reactive, and heavy. Something is really wrong.

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 20/09/2026
OK, I gotta say it. A lot of people need to lose their jobs over the next 3 weeks. Vivell, Wilcox and Berrada have run this team into the ground. The summer was woefully myopic on what we needed, and we're now payting the price. These players can fuck off too. They're clearly in check-cashing mode.

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 20/09/2026
Mbeumo looks like he's 40 years old out there. Absolutely awful these past few games

They can deny it all they want, and perhaps they don't notice it; but when you've been through that many managers and are still at the club, and still a starter(!) you subconciously realize there's no real consequence to not trying, so you level down a bit. And then a bit more. Then a bit more...

That's one recently introduced Premier League ownership group out after massively letting down a fanbase. Let's hope another one follows soon.

It’s incredible how consistently this shows up. We do not win 50-50s. Our passes are heavy or weak or tackles in the ball back to the opposing team and our clearances suck we just play poorly. We look like we don’t give a shit all the time. It’s some kind of cultural failure at the club.
010
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
INEOS are a failed leadership team. They don’t change a thing about this clubs culture, then they cut every penny from this club and we still couldn’t spend this summer. If after all those INEOS cuts we are still broke, then we are a dying club.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
There is a culture of mediocrity and everything United does now from a summer signings to how it plays on the field. It’s just not good enough anywhere and no one in leadership wants to acknowledge that.

Zirkzee clearly thinks football is a non-contact sport

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Brighton were to a man, faster, stronger, more accurate, more hungry, etc. look at how many headers they strung together no challenge from our own team anytime we got the ball. There were four Brighton players on us. It was men versus boys out there.

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
It’s so incredibly frustrating to just have to sit here as a fan and not be able to do anything and watch your team act like they really do not care at all about playing football
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
It’s a good thing we bought three midfielders for one position for depth we no longer need meanwhile the rest of the squad is left to rot

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
This is now officially a crisis. Manchester United have a culture problem.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
This is so obvious it hurts a little. Tottenham will look awful right up until they play us and they’ll come alive and we’ll find new and exciting ways to look terrible.
010
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
If this is true, if they're not being allowed to ref a specific team's game, then they need to be fired. If the league is willing to admit that they can't even give the appearance of a fair game to United, then they're biased refs. Can still impact league position via other games. Sack them.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
At some point the UK needs to come to terms with the fact that the refereeing in the Premier League is compromised. Political inquiries etc. The sport cannot be kept to such a low standard. The possibility of compromised individuals has to be considered. Accountability for refs is long overdue.

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Sounds like Carrick’s good will has run out. That was quick.
010
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Think about this for a moment: They reversed a correct on the field call, to make an incorrect call, and they never even sent a ref to the screen to look at it. Absolutely insane.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
There's something corrupt about VAR, and the refereering in general in the premier league. No American sports league would ever accept this level of incompetence. Prem reffing is bent. Maybe it's betting, or personal bias, but there is something rotten at the core of the sport in England.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
We were supposed to get best in class, but instead we got two people from City who you could start making conspiracy theory cases for being double agents. The ETH-> Amorim catastrophe alone should have cost them their jobs. This club is in the exact same spot it was when it fired MOURINHO.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Berrada, Wilcox and Vivell's jobs need to be on the line, now. They need to be the next ones on the chopping block, not Carrick. They bought 3 midifielders for one position, one they bought knowingly injured, while the rest of the squad was left wanting. Criminal window needs to cost their jobs.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
I want to believe this, I really do, but this team has cornered the market on not playing for managers they're not having, and if they're not having Carrick, he'll get fired.

VAR has to be scrapped. It's literally never been used as it's intended purpose of being there to help referees as an aid. Now we have officials in person correctly giving decisions being overuled by blokes sat in an office and then hours later admit they got it wrong. VAR was supposed to help make

This is now officially a bad start to the season. I can’t remember the last time we had a good start to the season. There’s some hope in that in that we can turn this around, but it really shows me that fundamentally nothing has changed with INEOS and this is still a player run club.
001
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Disconnected a bit after the game. There something wrong, fundamentally, at the club. I think you could start saying that we benefited from a new manager bounce last season; that the relief of Amorim leaving lifted the players. Now they’re back to their lackadaisical ways. So so troubling.

I say all this because I have a feeling it will be relevant come tomorrow's game. /x

I'm not sure how we turn it around, but it's not a tactics or talent thing, it's an attitude thing. That's what I think Carrick needs to work on most. This team needs to play with a lot more anger. They need to be angry that the other team thinks they have a chance. /7

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
But instead we make them look world class. How many goalkeepers have had career games against us? How many mid-level wingers look like Gareth Bale against us? We wear our weaknesses so loudly, it's no wonder teams get their blood up against us. /6

I'll watch those same teams the next week look absolutely awful, and it's bothered me for a while. We seem to play to the level of our opponent, and we've got to learn to step on the throats of these mid and bottle table teams if we're going to ever do anything. /5

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
The point is, this team lacks grit, and it has for a long time. So when a headline came out this week saying "United need to learn to 'kill the hope'" it resonated with me. I watch a lot of prme games, and teams show up differently against us. They show up looking to slay a dragon. /4

Licha? Maybe. He's definitely got the fighting mentality, but I don't think INEOS fully rate him (and I don't know if I do either) so I don't think he's long for the team. De Ligt is far too injured to be considered, but he's probably the closest we have. /4

The criticism of him whinging is heavy-handed but not completely unfair. The last thing I ever wanted to see from a captain was a "oh come on!" and Bruno has that in spades. Maguire never really meshed with the role, and his form reappeared after the captaincy was taken from him. /3

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Bruno is a phenomenal player, but I do not get any leadership vibe off him. By all accounts, he's a great person, but you want your captain to have a little salt in him. /2

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
I'm saying this now, explicitly before tomorrow's game: I think United's biggest problem is a lack of leaders. Rooney got stick a few weeks back saying that when the crowd or the team wasn't looking up for it, he'd run through a fullback, leave a mark. I believe that's precisely what we lack. /1

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
Wait, are people saying Carrick is to blame right now? He’s clearly got us set up correctly; our failures are down to individual talent and mistakes. I’m quick to pull the trigger on managers; this is NOT a Carrick issue. This is down to individual mistakes and talent.

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
Hindsight 20/20 and all, but we spent 150m on midfielders, but we can only realistically have one of those players on the field at a time. We spent a shitload on depth when our breadth still sucks. We didn't get better, we just got deeper. Not sure that's the right call.
000
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
We don't seem to ever raise our ceiling. Every season there's some fundamental flaw in our team that gets exploited or leaned into, and it prevents us from moving forward. Good enough is simply not good enough in the premier league, and we're going to find that out this season.
010
Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
I just feel like this team spends every summer trying to not get worse, instead of getting better. Yeah, we replaced our midfield, but we lost Casemiro, so it's not really a net positive. There's just so much functionally wrong at United, from how cheap we sell players, to how we try and build. /1

Christopher D. @sevener.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
Who knows, we may have a good season. But bottom line, INEOS have shown the ambition simply isn't there. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Rashford is actually like a new signing. Great game again. Cannot sell him.

This has been a lot of fun the second half. It’s Bruno’s game for the hat trick, but it overshadows a brilliant controlling performance by Mainoo. Totally press resistant, and progression focused.
