🇨🇦 Riding a bike makes me happy! Probably because it keeps me off social media. And cross country skiing is pretty cool too! Cycling advocate in YYC. My friends call me Jim. #yycbike

The number of separatists in Alberta is very small, but every single one of them will vote in the separation referendum. It’s critical that everyone who doesn’t want separation votes as well, or else this could easily be Canada’s own Brexit moment. Don’t assume anything. Vote.

Listen: I don’t want to minimize the danger of high e-bike speeds. But if the problem here is that stores sell e-bikes that can drive faster than legal limits, then where’s the story about how literally *every car dealership has been doing the same thing for decades*?!?

When we did it, you could drive the west side road all the way to the park boundary at the Bryant Creek trailhead. We camped near the Bryant Creek wardens cabin and day hiked in over Assiniboine Pass and out Wonder Pass. Definitely would not have let a grizzly play tug of war with my shoelace!

If the UCP were really concerned about making life more affordable, you'd think they would be supportive of more bike lanes in the age of fuel costs nearing $2/litre. I also wonder when the last time was that Danni and Devon were on a bike, if ever.

This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate. The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.

My latest: the Alberta NDP's byelection win revealed the province's frustration with their separatism-curious premier. In order to win the next election, the NDP needs to do something even harder: tell a compelling economic story. #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/09/16/o...

The Alberta NDP still needs an economic story
The Alberta NDP shocked almost everyone by winning a byelection in a traditionally safe conservative seat. Now it has to do something even harder: tell its own economic story for the province.

The myth Alberta 'subsidizes' the rest of Canada is the most powerful meme in the separatist armoury. But it's utterly false. I show that most Albertans get more back from federal programs than they personally pay in federal taxes, for @thetyee.ca: thetyee.ca/Opinion/2026... #abpoli /2
