@kardashevband.bsky.social have released their best work yet. And quite probably Album Of The Year. The time spent on the two releases after The Almanac, has born incredible results. Alunea is a masterful, emotional conclusion to their sci-fi epic that ties everything together perfectly. Bravo!

This has actually been really educational, as I've today learned the difference between "homologated", as in the verb of being checked and certified, and "legal". I think I assumed they were synonymous but I guess the key here is what version of the software was given the OK by officials.

Here is the Aprilia RS-GP without the front bottom fairing fitted. You can see the two large exhaust headers, with a balance pipe just ahead of the fairing
The bottom radiator is the oil cooler. You can see the pipes running too and from the cooler, and what looks like an oil filter. The fact that there is duct tape on the oil cooler is a sign of how unseasonably cool it was at Sepang

While Muse has always been heavier, more melodic and riff based, more driven, more dramatic, more rock and roll. Even at the start they were quite different to Radiohead, and the comparison is a lazy UK music press byproduct

Just meant to say with the nirvana comparison that at the time when arguably Muse and Radiohead were most similar, they still weren't even that similar. Even with Pablo and Bends' more straightforward rock bent, it has its roots in a more textural, dynamics based post-Nirvana sound.

That's very true, though that's kinda what I meant by evolving into their own thing. Definitely some grandiose rock stuff on The Bends for sure but by the time we get to OKC and beyond they've pushed the sound into something much more unique that bands are still trying and failing to emulate today

Lukewarm, microwaved take from the 2000s: they were never Radiohead acolytes, Matt and Thom just both have great falsettos and that's all the indie-rock obsessed NME press could come up with to link them. Muse has always been more Queen, Radiohead started out more Nirvana and evolved into their own
