I played and finished Shield and enjoyed it, but felt like the formula was getting a little stale at that point so I skipped Scarlet/Violet entirely. I am definitely intrigued by Winds/Waves, however, so I'll probably pick one of those up next year.

And to naysayers who don't think it would work because the gameplay is built around training your characters between chapters: they could implement faster leveling and do what older games used to (such as PoR and RD); give players a certain number of EXP to offload to characters

Obviously, the player would likely miss out on quite a bit of extra content and side story stuff by opting for old-school story mode, but it would give a way to experience the core story/plot in a more streamlined way.

I don't know how possible this would be but, for future #FireEmblem games, it would be interesting if Intelligent Systems gave players the opportunity to experience the story the old-school FE way (i.e. just cutscenes and lite prep/battle) or the new-school way (3H and FW).

...or if the owners wanted to sell the company. However, there are few developers that can match the style and systems they've developed. Maybe Platinum Games, possibly Ninja Theory. And I'm not sure if smaller, well-known indies like Motion Twin would be equipped to do that kind of development.

You almost have to wonder if Nintendo will try to buy MercurySteam one of these days. Their ability to make action-heavy 2D games with pseudo-3D mixed in at moments is pretty unmatched, at least in Nintendo's realm of influence. It probably wouldn't happen unless Ravenous sold 5-10 mil+ copies...

2027 is shaping up to be a potentially amazing year for Switch 2. Metroid Ravenous, Kirby and the World Beyond, Xenoblade Genesis, and the rumored next 3D Mario game. And this only what we know so far. 🤯

Very impressed that Nintendo produced as many Kirby Air Riders amiibo as they have. I kinda wish they'd make one last one for Starman, but otherwise it's a pretty complete set.

It's cool that OoT is getting amiibo, but I was hoping more for Link on Epona, Ganondorf with his fist raised (when it shows his Triforce mark at the end), and Sheik playing the lyre. Kaepora Gaebora (the owl) could have been cool too.

This trailer is WILD! I've not been this excited for a Star Wars project in a while. 🤯 I did not expect Season 2 to have as much space battle stuff as they're showing but this looks to be the most ambitious space battle(s?) since at least The Battle of Scarif in Rogue One.

True, I do feel better knowing FFVIIR trilogy will be done by the time KHIV releases. I kinda have a sneaking suspicion Nomura will always have another second project going, though. We'll see. I have heard some of the long development time is Disney's fault too (taking long to approve things).

Exciting to know Kingdom Hearts IV is finally coming next year but, man, the next game really needs to come out within 4 years of this one. 8 years between KHIII and IV is ridiculous... (yes, I know there was 13 between KHII and III, but at least there were spinoffs in between).

Calling it now: sometime before the end of the week, possibly even tomorrow, PlayStation will retract their announcement of ending physical support because of the public outcry. It'll happen inevitably, but I think they'll realize they've jumped the gun for now. Just a hunch.

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

Actually, I'm a little surprised the PS3 digital store was still active. I thought they had shut it down but allowed for redownloads. As long as they continue to do the latter, I think I'm okay with that.
