www.videobarbershop.app/capabilities Updated the website with tons of information on what exactly Video Barbershop can do... like in the latest v1.8.5, it supports I-O Data's GV-USB2 as a valid capture device on the Mac. If you know you know. Pretty proud of getting that working.

videovector.app v1.6.0 was just updated with a ton of new features. If you aren't familiar with Video Vector, its a macOS 15.5+ app I made to generate complex 3D low-poly geometry and video art assets via a powerful and concise text file based scene language. It's FREE, so give it a try!

Been playing around with AI Agents and the MCP protocol they use to interface with apps. As a test case I used my app in development, Video Vector... and the results are shocking. Needless to say all apps I develop from now on will have agentic support. Looking at you @videobarbershop.bsky.social

After 10 days of having an app on the Mac App Store, I'm starting to think we are all just owners of storefronts in a dead mall, and the only true business out there are the ad services telling you to advertise in the dead mall. The impressions are just the other business owners wandering aimlessly

After quitting my job and developing this app over the last year, I’m proud to announce it has shipped and is now available! It’s been a long road, but I’m passionate about collecting and editing VHS and truly believe this is a great tool to add to any video editing pipeline, not just for VHS.

Was given this cassette tape of the radio show The Bickersons. Was not familiar with it. Despite a cat related bit that hasn’t aged well, the show is really funny and really amusing, as Don Ameche was a childhood favorite in Trading Places and Cocoon! Used my two apps to create the video.

Video Vector is getting feature packed with basically a shader language, but instead of pixel based is more geometry based. Three equations here (coloring background, lines and faces). That and simple vertex info. But basically just three equations.

Got my SoundBeast video capture device, which I’m liking a lot, especially native file system support for OSX, which my ClearClick didn’t. However, it revealed that my SuperVHS VCR might be toast. So that’s super annoying. (see what I did there)

Serious Fondue 🫕 @seriousfondue.rodeo · 02/02/2026

No I’m really focused on finishing my video editing app and shipping it. The batch are pretty dirty and will take time to clean. Really don’t want to ruin my VCRs like the one did without cleaning.

Estate sale. Three dozen VHS grabbed. 3 VCRs ruined from a moldy and wrinkled tape. Sigh. Was a long day, but everything is up and running again now… though the tape was too wrinkled to save even after it was clean.

Full tapes are tough. Last couple attempts all got flagged for various parts or reasons. Kind of a killjoy to spend time cleaning and converting and uploading for some random song in a program to get flagged and blocked globally. Most I’ve found lately have been home movies.

How long before the next generation thinks all these steel kitchen appliances are as antiquated as the 80’s saw the drab greens, yellows and oranges of 70’s kitchens? Cars and appliances are so boring in grey tones now that I feel like we are due for color explosions to devalue steel kitchens.
