#IdeasAtWork 18 candidates. One ward. Four years. Toronto-Danforth residents are about to hear a lot of promises about what comes next. So I asked people from across my ward: What should the next councillor be prepared to address over that same period? Click www.torontodanforth.org 1/3 #TOPoli

Ford & Sarkaria don't see people on bicycles as people & commuters. You're not "people" nor "commuter" if you're cycling to work. It's really sad to be disregarded like this as a resident of Ontario. Sends a clear signal that lives & commutes don't matter due to our choice of travel mode. #bikeTO

Yup! Kiddo was transported to camp via cargo bike yesterday in the rain (and every day). Raincoats and rain pants (and an umbrella, somehow). #bikeTO

Drawing our attention to the 4th image here: while it's a function of density and location, consider how densely used the stations along Yonge, Bloor, and University are. #bikeTO

I have removed the bike lanes that were in the road and which you were probably using to get to work Forgive me they were delicious so crunchy and so cold

What a legacy. Leaving yet another group of vulnerable people with less than they had when you started your damn job.

Many will be hurt and killed because of the decision to remove protected bike lanes. But a reminder to #BikeTO: at the same time as being upset with the province, know that our elected municipal reps are equally culpable. Prioritizing the safety of vulnerable road users shouldn't be this hard.

Notable back-and-forth between @lanrickbennett.bsky.social and Councillor Paula Fletcher here. Lanrick makes good argument for protected bike lanes on Jones Ave, as previously approved by council. Fletcher says that plan takes away too many parking spaces. beachmetro.com/2025/06/05/i...

Oh gosh you were talking about the rain. I was talking about storing private property (ahem, bicycles) on the road.

Ha I did similar with my gigantic cargo bike when I dropped kiddo off at camp the other day. It was too big to haul onto the sidewalk so I parked it like a car 😁

I think the thing that makes me angriest about #AI writing is having to mark it (because it's hard to prove). The audacity of expecting a human being to spend time and effort reviewing this entirely generic crap produced with zero effort and learning is utterly abhorrent.

We put together a bunch of data and wrote an interesting thing about where immigrants are living and how the GTA is voting over the past 80 years. Take a look schoolofcities.github.io/gta-immigrat...

Meandered my way through this meander of a book. I think Murakami's work tends to variations of similar themes; not necessarily a bad thing, since it can be a nice, chill place to be. #2025reads

I'm looking at the photo in Lanrick's post and I'm just. Nope. I'm not going to ride in that. I had a huge wipeout in similar garbage last winter and I'm done with this half-ass.

Snow day at the gym, trying out the video thing. Easy 11-, small finger and toes, fairly straightforward stuff. The pink 11+ was much more interesting but I wasn't thinking about taking a video then. #climb #rockclimbing #rockoasis

Reading the uninformed discourse on this is exhausting. And on the other hand the clearance is done in such a way that makes it hard to bike anyway

5+k, -7°c, windy, cold, felt like a bit of a slog. Valley still my happy place though.

5km, -6°c, low wind, packed snow in the trails, which was nice; a couple icy spots, not so nice; street into the valley gross and muddy. Gorgeous inside the valley though. #runto

BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD - I kept hearing about these little cosy Japanese stories that I think were kick-started by this one and managed to get my hands on it. The first chapter was rough as I had an instant dislike for the characters but things got better afterwards. #2025reads #TPL
