For the second year in a row, I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss. I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today. Please donate as little or as much as you can to this worthy cause. fundraising.sands.org.uk/fundraisers/...

If FiFA don't push through their privatisation this round, they will do what the did with the "quarters'. They wanted it in '94 world cup got a no, waited till 2026 to rebrand as hydration breaks. They will wait til a dutiful amount pf time has passed and push it through but without the media leaks.

Thanks to everyone who shared their research, asked questions, offered feedback, and made the conference such an engaging and welcoming experience. I’m already looking forward to continuing these conversations and seeing where the research takes us next. #AcadMarketing2026 #AcademicLife

The questions, insights, and conversations that followed have given me plenty to reflect on as I begin developing the work into a journal article. It’s a reminder that some of the best ideas emerge through dialogue and constructive challenge.

It’s easy to become immersed in our day-to-day roles, but conversations like these remind me why academic communities matter. They challenge our thinking, broaden our perspectives, and often spark the next idea.

The Academy of Marketing Conference 2026 left me feeling appreciative about the state of research into the discipline. One of the things I value most about conferences is the opportunity to step outside my own institutional bubble and engage with colleagues from across the marketing community.

Ethnic cleansing, genocide, apartheid, all on the head of a people while the world keeps debating and generations suffer in real time. One historic injustice does not justify another injustice. That doesn’t feel like justice at all. The lives of Palestinians matter.

sereneprincess I don’t know what the solution is, but the destruction of a people and their land cannot be the answer, although it has already happened, and what remains, Netanyahu is claiming violently.

Al Jazeera has reported in this era that Israeli bombing has continued with near-daily attacks despite the truce. Conditions for civilians and families in Gaza remain critical. This is a crisis that has gone on for generations, started way before October 2024.

Further expansion of control would force Palestinians into an even smaller area than the tiny strip of land along the coast. The ceasefire has failed to halt Israeli attacks much the same way previous two-state agreements have failed to stop Israeli occupation of and claim to more Palestinian land.

This is despite the ceasefire agreement where Israel were to withdraw to the point of controlling 53% of Gaza. Therefore, the Israeli military had already breached the ceasefire already extending control beyond the original ceasefire.

Netanyahu says he has directed IDF to increase control of Gaza to 70%
The expansion in control by Israel would contradict the terms of the ceasefire Israel and Hamas agreed to in October 2025.

Most of the resistance to being 'cancelled' or accountability or 'people don't want to say anything cause everyone's just so sensitive these days' is just us not wanting to learn or progress. Some people really do revel in their ignorance.

The more we understand power, inequality, and representation, the harder it becomes to sell us compliance as stability. That’s why critical thinking matters. That’s why inclusive narratives matter.

“The ruling class fears education because it makes obedience impossible.” This quote is often attributed to Karl Marx, but that's not verified. I agree with the core sentiment. Education is about knowledge and the type of awareness that disrupts systems that rely on our naivety.

How Media Shapes Our Worldview
“Media are central agents of socialisation, shaping individuals’ perceptions of social reality, norms, and expectations.” When I was a child, I was watched TV obsessively. In attempts to dissuade me, my mom would call it the ‘idiot box’. This framing positions media as simply entertainment, something we consume for relaxation, decompression or momentary escape. However, this framing is misleading, because media is not just entertainment, it has been found to be one of the most powerful systems of socialisation influencing people’s view of the world.

I recently finished Edenglassie by Melissa Lucashenko and it has excavated so many feelings and thoughts in me around colonisation and its impact on identity, systems and structures. I am so glad I read it as part of my book club. I would not use the word 'enjoyed' to describe the experience but it will definitely linger with me for ages.

Donald Trump is atheist. American Christians who voted for him because of faith know that a man who held the bible upside-down is atheist but support him because he will set anti-choice, anti-women, racist, homophobic regulations that bring to life their sadism. The cruelty is absolutely the point.
