Even thinking in a secular manner, endorsement of MAiD by the centre left confuses me, because MAiD is clearly, to me, a euphemism for a far-right neoliberal regime of doctors murdering their patients, particularly the poor and disabled. I don’t understand how people apparently square it.

Anyway, according to /r/Episcopalian the miracles in Scripture didn’t happen and are actually just meant to teach us all how to be good liberals and it is ‘literalist fundamentalism’ to say otherwise.

It’s fascinating the framing theological liberals so often takes. It’s funny the objections I see to claims of miracles for instance. ‘Modern biblical criticism can’t verify that miracles happened. Things like that do seem impossible.’ I am not sure you understand what a miracle is. ⚓️

Queer theory is a very specific school of thinking, and lgbt people are not required to assent to it. There's nothing about my manner of being that requires me to pledge fealty to post-structuralism, critical theory, etc. and notions of (peoples ideas of) antinormativity as automatically liberatory.

The ACoC’s trial liturgy for MAiD is starkly and rankly evil. Pure surrender to the secular world and the violent baal and moloch worship that it engages in. It is actually sick. ⚓️ This is the state of the North American mainline. This is what we must rebel against.

Anyone who met Kyle Busch knew how much he loved his family. After the 2018 spring win at Texas Motor Speedway, he fired off the six shooters and grabbed the trophy…but holding his kid was the real prize. Tonight I’m thinking about Samantha, Brexton, and Lennix. 💔 #RIPKyleBusch

If one is going to have a theology of inclusion, one must have something substantial to include someone in. The Gospel. Holy Scripture. The Faith as apostolically delivered. Instead, LGBTQ Christians, yearning for Jesus, are invited more often to lukewarm HR speak and sparkle creeds. ⚓ Or worse,

It is failing queer Christians that empty and tepidly theologically liberal heterodoxy and even apostasy is often all that’s offered to us. When why we need, just like everyone else, is the Good News of JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour. We need He who died for us. ⚓️

Trump is a tremendous idiot, we know this. But what fascinates me so is the sycophantic machine whereby whatever braindead proclamation he makes is justified retroactively. So many people are paid essentially to paint a picture where the American President is anything but a fool and a lunatic.

Accepting the Creeds isn’t enough to be a basically orthodox Christian And so it’s cringe when (especially Episcopalians) will laud themselves as “inclusively orthodox” for doing the bare minimum whilst often holding to heresies like Process Theology or whilst saving a very low view of Scripture.⚓️

Julian of Norwich is often appropriated by the purveyors of new age woo, but she was very much steadfastly orthodox and beautifully so, and is even particularly Augustinian in her framings, and monergistic. And incredibly brilliant in her beautiful theological articulations.

I am diving into the Catholic doctrines of classical theism and the Attributes of God (with E.L. Mascall and Aquinas instructing me, chiefly) in order to answer the sadly much too common heresies of Process Theology and Open Theism. Mascall's He Who Is, A Study in Traditional Theism is excellent.

I think it's proper time to articulate inclusive orthodoxy as necessarily having more meat on it than mere acceptance of the creeds. That's an incredibly low-bar. Or perhaps another word is called for, for what is necessary? Renewal. ⚓

Lancelot Andrewes instructed priests to pour wine into the chalice so that it looked like gushing blood. So metal. What a goth. Probably one of my favorite essays of all time: McCullough's reconstruction of Andrewes's liturgical practices. ⚓
A screenshot of the first page of McCullough's essay "Absent Presence: Lancelot Andrewes and 1662." The first paragraph details how it is that we have come to have access to LAncelot Andrewes's "Notes on the Book of Common Prayer." Essentially, McCullough is just letting us know why he is relying on the version of the Notes published as part of the Library of Anglo-Catholic Theology in 1854, since this edition records all the variants between the existing copies of the Notes.

Hooker actually lays it out Scripture -> reason -> tradition. Though Urban T. Holmes, who spread the idea very much, put at least reason at the same level with Scripture, saying that it's a mistake to put Scripture over reason. Something Hooker did not believe. (cont) ⚓
