I tabled at Trans Pride and had the best time. It hit me hard how incredibly lucky I am to be surrounded by community. A year ago I was isolated as the only trans person in my entire field in the Navy. Now I’m one of multiple in my new job. It’s jarring but in the best way possible.

I posted this one year ago today. An executive order was issued that signaled the end of open service for folks like myself. I did what I always did; I took it personally and laced up my boots, like normal. Now, as I sit on the other side of gates, I’m doing what I can to right this colossal wrong.

I spent Saturday treating myself at the salon and getting fitted for a new suit. I was surrounded by women and nonbinary folks who were fawning over my figure and style. It was a nice reminder that people see me for who I really am. Gals and theys are the best 💖
