Max critical temperature (CTmax) is as hot as a fish can get before it experiences lethal heat stress. Centrarchidae is a thermally tolerant group of freshwater fishes with some (including largemouth bass and bluegill) capable of surviving briefly above 100°F! #SundayFishSketch

An infographic showing the critical thermal maxima of different bass and sunfish species on a scale from 44ºC (110ºF) to 35ºC (95ºF). From left to right (hottest CTmax to lowest), the featured species are the bluegill, largemouth bass, orangespotted sunfish, pumpkinseed, green sunfish, black crappie, and smallmouth bass.

Skim the fish murdery beginning. The biology parts are great. “Gars are opportunistic feeders that primarily prey on fish but also eat crabs, turtles, birds, and small mammals, and their spiral guts can wring the maximum nutrients out of kills…

Red foxes can be found throughout the continental United States from Alaska to Florida. 🦊 They eat rodents and rabbits, but they will also eat birds, amphibians, and fruit. Their ability to find food, even during the winter, is one reason why red foxes have a reputation for being cunning and smart.

Day 5 - Dec 5 2024 Today I woke up to the first sprinkling of snow for the season so here’s an image I made on a happy snowy day outside Fredericton NB. #artadventcalendar

Photo of a horse-drawn sleigh standing still in snow. Middle-aged man is sitting on the large sleigh holding reins attached to two large brown work horses who both have white hooves and white blazes. It’s snowing lightly.

A non motivated Tide with who knows how many opting out is a double digit favorite to beat the team who just beat Ohio State ? Sounds like a sucker bet to me. They can’t say how many players are out and sell tickets. I’d load up on Michigan.

Hey UT fans, how does it feel drawing one of the toughest teams (Ohio State) in the first round ? I’m thinking it’s like having a big red bullseye on your backs going in. Not to worry though, after a humiliating loss,Georgia, one of the teams BAMA beat, will win it all. 😂
