a friend had some dyed Leicester longwool that she wanted to eventually spin (with the end goal of making gloves for her partner), but she knew it had to be blended and didn't have a drum carder v proud of the results! 50% Leicester longwool 25% Corriedale cross 21% Coopworth 4% tussah silk 🧶🐑

I am furiously trying to catch up to my students in time for session two of my intro to drop spindles class on thursday we're using a kit from @akerworks.bsky.social and it's truly such a joy -- it has everything newbies need to spin & ply (not an ad, just happy customer over here)

it's hard to tell for certain without seeing it in person, but that's how it seems to me! not all fiber is made to be any yarn we ask it to be. I think you'll definitely enjoy this one more if you spin it thicker

I would spin it as it, long draw, for a more textured woolen spun yarn. as a beginner this might be a little outside your comfort zone! I would recommend committing to the discomfort and challenge OR saving it for later 🫶🏻
