Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones, and everyone in the community impacted by this violence. Two of those injured were law enforcement officers who put themselves in harm's way to protect others, and they have our gratitude and support as they recover.

On Thursday, the man who assassinated Speaker Melissa and Mark Hortman and attempted to murder Senator John Hoffman, his wife Yvette and daughter Hope, was sentenced to two life sentences plus forty years for the attacks. Senator Majority Leader Erin Murphy released the following statement.
