I want to learn the names of the bugs and plants in this part of minnesota last year there was a disturbing hole in the ground near one of our bushes, and when I looked at it something wriggled, so I avoided that part of the yard for the rest of the summer

this is a really pleasant experience! I can't entirely explain it but somehow they managed to make a large group migration feel feasible, preserving a bunch of existing social structures from twitter without making it feel "just like twitter"

a few weeks/months/whoknows ago I skimmed my old tumblr blog I was active from 2015 to 2019 had a lot of fun but it unlocked a sense of self from that time that I'd put away, and with a bit of distance it was obvious that there was something awkwardly artificial/constructed
