I’m sad, cynical, and deeply disappointed in the implication that it was women coming forward about sexual abuse who failed and not the goddamned rapists, personally. Women, as is generally the case, *were* failed by a country that elevates rapists to the highest heights possible.

In September, we filed a FOIA request for CCTV footage from the ICE warehouse in Roxbury, NJ, after observers reported seeing ICE detain people on the grounds. ICE denied the request and told us to ask the GSA. That's ironic, since ICE bypassed the GSA when it bought the warehouses.
Screenshot of text from ICE's response letter: "After carefully reviewing your request, ICE has determined that the records you seek are not under ICE's purview and are not maintained by ICE. Accordingly, ICE is unable to process your request for the records described above.

This request should be directed to the General Services Administation [sic] (GSA), which may be the agency/component more likely to maintain records responsive to your request. Please visit https://www.gsa.gov/reference/freedom-of-information-act-foia for additional information regarding how to submit a FOIA request to that agency/component."
