SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 12/02/2025The current live version at app.kinogaki.com is built using various things like React, OpenGL and a few other small libraries. I've since switched to a desktop app (all using C++ / QT) because I was running into performance issues on the web version (garbage collectors suck)app.kinogaki.comKINOGAKI 110
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 12/02/2025I can't believe it, but I did #genuary1 fully inside Kinogaki. This spanned a lot of improvements, nodes, ideas and so on. I also added ability to name nodes and write comments so that when you share other people can understand. 0110
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 10/02/2025Still working on recreating #genuary1. This is an amazing exercise that prompted a lot of good changes. Third screenshot are the nodes inside the For Loop node. Wait until you see what a "Code" node can do :) 0100
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 09/02/2025I had very mixed results with Gelly Roll Moonlight. Uni-ball Signo had been great. (All black paper though) 000
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 08/02/2025It’s fixing every single tingly thing that makes for perfect product. There is nothing else to it. So next time, when you notice the fleeting glimpse that flew past you at warp speed, don’t be lazy and catch it. Once caught - fix the hell out of it. 010
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 08/02/2025Our brains are amazing storytellers and will guide us around the problem. But know this - others will notice it. It’s by ignoring these little things, we fill the world with ‘ok’ products, mediocre artworks and build technical debt in our projects. 110
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 08/02/2025Most of the time the moment after that one you’ll get justification from your brain as to why it’s not important to fix it immediately or why it’s not a big deal at all. The truth is that the problem is real. It’s just small. 110
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 08/02/2025One important thing that I’ve learned, but have hit or miss applying in real life is this. When you look at your code/product/artwork and get this tingly feeling at the back of your head saying that there is this little thing that’s off, you should always fix it. 150
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 08/02/2025Didn’t finish Genuary 01 today, but fixed a lot of bugs and workflows issues. 020
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 07/02/2025What's interesting is the difference between software dictating you what to do vs you dictating the software what you want. Very different dynamic. Because I'm recreating specific things I did for #genuary I need to change/add new workflows to Kinogaki. 010
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 07/02/2025As means for testing KINOGAKI, I'll power through Genuary once again using only it, just to make sure it's working. Will also publish all of the scene files as well. 150
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I’m moving a long. A lot of improvements, bug fixes and features. Maybe next week I’ll post installers and a few more videos. There is a node that allows you to write code (which compiles to machine code), there are nodes that allow to do for loops as well. Exciting stuff… 020

SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 03/02/2025My total count of new lines of code for today is a negative number and I’m proud. The simpler everything is the more reliable it is. Can’t wait to share with you all an updated version. 040
Reposted by SEDOVKINOGAKI @kinogaki.bsky.social · 02/02/2025Absolutely. There are plans for a whole context to process images and then use them to influence various parameters. Also nodes for color, physics, there are loops. There is also Code node that I’ll record a video on next. 141
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 02/02/2025Releasing an app that people can install is apparently witchcraft. A lot of waiting on certificates, DUNS number, and what now. Good news - that the desktop version is so stable and fast - it's almost indescribably better experience compared to the web version I published. 180
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 02/02/20251 hour of coding features. 9 hours of configuring GitHub Actions to build an installer for Mac and Windows. Still going… 030
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 01/02/2025I generally dislike using AI when I code. Only use it on boilerplate code (simple in logic but long to type) o3-mini is really good. It started to change my mind. It feels like it’s inspired by the code that’s already there so it looks and reads the way I would’ve written it. Really interesting. 120
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 31/01/2025I’m just gonna chill the rest of the evening. So much potential now that I have a solid graphics engine. 010
Reposted by SEDOVKINOGAKI @kinogaki.bsky.social · 30/01/2025Technical debt is real. Rewriting parts of Kinogaki the right way. I’m really thankful to all the DMs and bug reports. 🙏🏻 061
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 28/01/2025It is out! Go check it out. My dm's are open - I'll be happy to hear comments suggestions and just chat about it. There are lots of things to do. Lot's of things are planned and in the works, but for now I feel like it's time to release it into the wild. 270
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 28/01/2025Ahh - the struggles of a different point of view. It’s gonna be good though! 000
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 23/01/2025Should have a minimal demo you all can try in hopefully a week or so. 140

SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 21/01/2025A bit late to #genuary14 all black and white submission. Below is a very quick demo of KINOGAKI app that’s currently in development. #genuary #penplotter #plotterart 0212

SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 18/01/2025Here is what it would look like if you go from 0.001 to 4.0 for the PI value 020
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 18/01/2025Day 17 of Genuary 2025 Prompt: What happens if pi=4? In the software I use to generate this I wrote custom sin/cos functions that accept arbitrary PI value. From top to bottom it goes from 3.14 to 4.0 while drawing a circle. #genuary #genuary2025 #genuary17 #plotterart #penplotter 160
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 18/01/2025I've added custom xsin and xcos functions to scripting capabilities of "plot" and now I can show how things change when PI slowly becomes 4.0. Just need to color this and plot. This code runs per each point created by a point_grid. 020

SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 18/01/2025This may as well be the most important node I write. It's using LUA in the background, but I will augment it so that it's more C like syntax without 'then' and 'end' 020
SEDOV @sedov.bsky.social · 18/01/2025I think the more colorful version is more appropriate for #genuary16 060
