Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 4hSo is the outer layer of a Crunchie miraculously not killing Clyde and his mates, or is this one of those “do as I say, not as I do” situations? Asking for a friend. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Arsenal needs a new GC. Reach out guys. I’m available. (Actually what I do. Not a gag.) 000
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Yeah agree I guess the difference is they have vast wealth so can afford to! There is a lot of investment in that ownership slice. We got PPP wrong before but we surely learned lessons to make it work properly! 🫠 000
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Yeah we are fully aligned on that. That’s what I meant by New Labour. This country needs a reboot. Nothing works. Part of the problem are the people who see statements like that and say “oh you don’t know how lucky you are” and instantly cite the NHS vs USA. It’s so self-harming. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Back then I was a card carrying Tory but I resigned my membership in that period because they were too authoritarian and their budgets otherwise made no sense. I’d hoped this government would be like New Labour but it’s been a total shocker. Both parties are in thrall to a vocal minority of loons 000
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Broadly yes conceptually, because as you pointed out, national debt had risen due to the GFC and we didn’t have the growth to be able to keep it down. However, I don’t think they focused it in the right areas & went too hard. They murdered the justice system and public services never recovered. 200
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Makes more sense but not much different given impact of 2008. We haven’t grown much since and so gdp hasn’t kept pace with debt. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I’d add Dexter. Jumped the shark. Speaking of which, Happy Days. 010
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Bit of a weird snapshot given the GGC happened in 2008, Brexit in 2016 and we had Covid (which made the GFC look like a picnic) in 2020. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Totally agree with you. Brexit, Covid - all reasons why it’s difficult to lay the blame on previous governments. We give Brown a free pass but not them. What’s unforgivable is slaughtering your economy on purpose with a budget. Truss did that. But Reeves’ was much worse because it’s anti-growth. 000
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I didn’t say they didn’t. And that wasn’t “the Tories” as a whole, that was the British public. The government supported remain - and that government for the most part did a good job of keeping spending down. It was knobheads on the right of the party who supported Brexit. 010
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026How far do you want to go back? The last Tory govt was a shambles but it’s not like they received an economy in rude health. In truth we have never made it out of the financial crisis. Our wage growth since then is the poorest in the G7, while we haven’t been able to control inflation. 200
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026And while we do need to assist house building and infrastructure, something smells off about just focusing on these two entities. There is lower-hanging fruit. All that said, I have no faith in the Tories. But if anyone proposed pro-growth policies I would vote for them. I’m not alone. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026At the other end of the spectrum, more of the highest paying taxpayers have left since Reeves’ suicide budget than ever, reducing overall revenue and increasing burden on normal people. The Laffer curve is real and we are seeing it in action. Billionaires and Millionaires leaving is a disaster. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I’ve just started a business and it is depressingly difficult. I currently have my bank account limited because I have to prove to the bank, due to regulation, that I’m a real business, which I can’t do because they’ve limited my account. It’s circular. 200
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Depends entirely on the regs being set on fire. I’m pro-regulation where it’s needed, but we are paralysed as a country by red tape. It takes us billions more and insane amounts of time to make infrastructure improvements than peer nations. Our economy is buggered. Cutting red tape would help. 100
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I agree and I’ll always love the man. But irrespective of the restraints and cheating from Chelsea and then City, we left a few titles on the table with his stubborn resistance to adapting. What he did was actually a miracle, so it was a shame to fall off in the ways we did. 000
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It has happened to some of the world’s largest companies. Only takes one person not reading properly and being on guard. The more people you employ, the more likely it is to happen. 010

I think they doth protest too much about the leaks as well. 000

But whatever happened behind the scenes, the game is won on the pitch. 932835

Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 01/10/2026… and illegitimately overpays on the other, how do HMRC/the courts view this? Do they try each count separately or look at the overall transaction and assess impact to the taxpayer? 110
Sebinho @sebinho9.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Thanks for the usual top work, Dan and colleagues. Am I correct in thinking that if they, as the commission say, inflated their revenues, they would have ended up paying more CT (due to inflated profits).
