watching ep 39 of #AgainstTheCurrent and i'm lost, who is the girl on the left meant to be? lol i don't recognize her. also i feel like we've had like 4 timeskips in one episode!

"I've studied. But I still don't understand the rules of this world. Tell me, when will there ever be a world like that? Where girls, just like boys, can go to school, take the imperial exams, serve as officials, do business and earn their own money?" Powerful script. #AgainstTheCurrent

i love when i learn something from cdramas but i'm always in disbelief when it's something awful! to discover that men in the past were allowed to abuse their wives with no charges as long as they there was no "significant damage?" disgusting! #AgainstTheCurrent

quick question for anyone watching #SpringOfTheBlade: i guess yan rui doesn't really know fl's true objective yet? i figured they were on similar paths of vengeance but maybe not lol. maybe that's why he hasn't told shen che anything about her identity? (ep17)

updating to say that i think after ep 10 i started to warm to it a lot more haha, i just needed that further push it seems! am now up to ep 16 and loving the twists! although the romance hasn't won me over yet, the story is fun enough and the action is v well filmed! 👏 #SpringOfTheBlade

ep 32 #AgainstTheCurrent: jfc this mother / aunt(?) is absolutely awful, wtf.. she treats her daughters like they're just cattle istg. image so important she'd rather have her family abused?! and all those women of the Lu family who just thought a man beating a woman is okay! get to hellll

catniss | ♡ ✧･ﾟ 💘 @seasaltclouds.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

lol idk what it is but i legit cannot get the #SpringOfTheBlade theme song out of my head 😂 it's so damn catchy and they play it throughout the eps so much

oh god ep30 of #AgainstTheCurrent is heartbreaking.. taken to her family home as a child where everyone was murdered.. the maid she's looking for being treated horribly, the fact Jinqi's sister-in-law's husband is a piece of trash omg 😭 (also, the knockout drug lol jinqi whyy)

catniss | ♡ ✧･ﾟ 💘 @seasaltclouds.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

the amount of discourse about jing boran and liu wen is absolutely ridiculous! i knew some fans could be delusional but they're REALLY reaching omg. i just can't understand why the man can't just move on and live his life like normal!! and then some saying he shouldn't act in romance drama 🤦‍♀️

ep 25 of #AgainstTheCurrent.. it's kind of sad how everyone struggled with having to accept the proposal.. but you know if he'd done it any other way she would have rejected him regardless... I kind of get the whole slap thing now LMAO

010

catniss | ♡ ✧･ﾟ 💘 @seasaltclouds.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

ep 23 of #AgainstTheCurrent omg, this was so sad!! i feel so bad for Ji Er! and then knowing how much Lanxiang wants to repay her and get her out of this situation... I feel like it's inevitable she probably can't but I'm holding out hope! 😭 the maid friendships are just the cutest 🥲

ahsafjjs i really wanted to love #SpringOfTheBlade because I really like the cast but I can't get into it :') the characters are so unlikeable and i get that's kind of the point lmao but i think the fact i'm addicted to #AgainstTheCurrent doesn't help HAHA up to ep 9, dare i stick with it?

the physician in #AgainstTheCurrent diagnosing erysipelas but it seems like it's spreading as an epidemic??? yet from what i know it's not usually contagious lol so is he misdiagnosing? 👀 also i know it was pre-antibiotics but i wonder if the stuff he prescribes actually worked haha
