Assuming all $1,500 is spent on Anthropic. Can spread that budget further with open source alternatives.

They do not have the sensory nerves in order to feel pain. They do have access to statistically plausible language embeddings of what expressions of pain are like. This is simulacra.

Quite why it’s somehow the responsibility of social media to source facts for you for free, whilst you are paid for to write about the world but can’t be bothered to even look at it.

This is just one source of data which runs entirely counter to your claim that renewables are now and will forever be more expensive than oil. It’s just entirely fact-free nonsense from you, @rentouljohn.bsky.social

Yet More AI Conf 2027

When I speak to copy writers, I hear they've lost so much work to GenAI. Yet looking at copy which has been generated by AI, only makes me long for a good copy writer more who'd uplift content into the right tone and voice. Employ more copy writers. I beg of you.

Data centres and AI really needed to learn from the example of GM foods, nuclear power and financial services - that no matter how necessary you think the job you do is, if you get a reputation for lying all the time you are absolutely f**ked in terms of public approval and consent for what you do

A democratically acceptable build out will be the only viable and sustainable way. Structurally, already the act of a single Governor can put up to 20% of planned US capacity. The current stance of data centre advocacy lacks resiliency and so is vulnerable to political activism.

I agree with this. Concerns about noise, electricity consumption and water do have real force. Polarised positions on both sides fail to recognise democracy is a consensus. Treating concerns as bad faith only results in an entrenched position which will only lead to conflict.

From Wikipedia:

The purpose of a system is what it does (POSIWID) is a heuristic in systems thinking coined by the British management consultant Stafford Beer,[1] who stated that there is "no point in claiming that the purpose of a system is to do what it constantly fails to do".[2] It is used in systems theory, and is generally invoked to counter the notion that the purpose of a system can or should be read from the intentions of those who design, operate, or promote it. When a system's side effects or unintended consequences reveal that its behaviour is poorly understood, then the POSIWID perspective can balance political understandings of system behaviour with a more straightforwardly descriptive view.

University disciplinary proceedings are not usually international news. There’s a real possibility that there were mental health issues involved. Arday was used in a cynical attempt to tar all black academics by the actions of one man.

I was trying to write about Jevon’s paradox. It’s been all the rage in sustainability conversations for many years. It’s treated like a hard rule that can never be escaped and that’s not how we should use it at all.

Big Ben is the bell that lives inside the Elizabeth Tower. The tower is often mistaken for Ben. So if anything I feel it should be Big Liz. This is a very important issue.

Two things can be true at once: 1) There are many uses of AI that will be valuable and 2) some of the currently highly valued suppliers of AI may crash and burn, in a way that could affect the broader economy because of the way the boom is being financed.

Every criminal defence lawyer should now be asking - as standard: * Has any piece of evidence, schedule, digital search, summary, or unused assessment been conducted by AI? * Has any witness used AI in the formulation of their statement, exhibits or in preparation of giving oral evidence at trial?

The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.

Honestly if you really were a consultant as you claim (which I very much doubt), this would go a long way to help explain the failures we are seeing in maternity services.

It doesn't matter if biologically unnecessary 15% dextrose is delivered to a vulnerable patient, expert?

You assume they immediately stopped the increased sugars when the BS returned to normal after treating a persistent hypoglycaemia? You said you were an expert.

15% dextrose.

Sean Robbins @seanrobbins.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
But if the hypo has a plausible natural explanation, it seems problematic to then use it to support an anomalous test result. It’s circular logic. Let’s just leave this to experts and let the CCRC do its job.
100
Sean Robbins @seanrobbins.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
That's accurate. The question is whether that's the only possible explanation for such a result from a test. The Prosecution claimed this - 'the only conclusion'. It isn't though.

No, the unquantifiable was incorrectly described as undetectable in Dr Anna Milan's evidence for Baby F. Other parts of her evidence correct that.

Nice attempt at a deflection. You don't have any particular knowledge of this area at all, do you? Who's 'winging it'? Hmm

The C-Peptide in the Letby tests was UNQUANTIFIABLE. Which means C-Peptide was being produced. This is inconsistent with exogenous insulin.
