I am not very worried about about the Tory Tapestry’s misuse of “doth”. What worries me much more is this sequence of panels which seems to show a small boat full of brown-skinned people followed by a plague of rats running riot and then a lot of dead white people labelled tax payers.
Detail from Conservative Party mock Bayeux Tapestry showing 1. A boat full of brown skinned people. 2. Enormous rats chasing cats. 3. White-skinned “tax payers” dead in the streets.

@richardmoorhead.bsky.social Saw this in the @theathletic.com profile of Pannick and thought of you!
This was not the first time Lord Pannick had gained mainstream notoriety. A comment he made in the 2016 Brexit hearing in relation to precedent involving the royal prerogative -
"You say De Keezer, I say De Geezer" - was later printed on T-shirts, with money raised from sales going to charity.

Goigle’s answer:

People also ask
Why is Ludwig blurry?
Al Overview
Ludwig looks blurry because the show's cinematographers use a deliberate artistic style that features anamorphic lenses, a shallow depth of field, and a low f-stop.
Reddit • r/cinemat... +2
This specific combination creates distinct visual effects:
• Shallow depth of field: Objects and backgrounds directly behind or around the main character are heavily blurred to keep all focus on the actor in the center of the frame.
• Anamorphic distortion: The specialized lenses bend light to give a cinematic look, which can cause edge distortion, curved straight lines, and a smeary effect near the borders of the screen.
• Focus breathing: As characters move slightly back and forth during close-ups, the focus puller has to fight the narrow aperture limits, causing the framing to subtly shift in and out of focus. @
Many viewers discussing the show on Reddit have noted that while it is an intentional stylistic choice, it can feel overwhelming or distracting on standard home televisions.

This is from the opening recap. There is a pool of focus around Mitchell’s face. If you enlarge the image and then look to the left you will see it is not in focus. Or better still tap on the second image and then working top to bottom look at the design in the tie.

They were interrupted by Mrs. Allen: "My dear Catherine," said she, "do take this pin out of my sleeve; I am afraid it has torn a hole al-ready; I shall be quite sorry if it has, for this is a favourite gown, though it cost but nine shillings a yard."
"That is exactly what I should have guessed it, madam," said Mr. Tilney, looking at the mus-lin.
"Do you understand muslins, sir?"
"Particularly well; I always buy my own cra-vats, and am allowed to be an excellent judge; and my sister has often trusted me in the choice of a gown. I bought one for her the other day, and it was pronounced to be a prodigious bargain by every lady who saw it. I gave but five shillings a yard for it, and a true Indian muslin."
Mrs. Allen was quite struck by his genius.
"Men commonly take so little notice of those things," said she; "I can never get Mr. Allen to know one of my gowns from another. You must be a great comfort to your sister, sir."
"I hope I am, madam."

The fabulous @jameshawes.bsky.social putting the stick about.
The economy recovered so quickly, however, that Ireland was promoted back up from PIG to Celtic Phoenix. The good times were coming back - until English politics stuck the knife in yet again.
In 2016, a cabal of Tories, pursuing a fantasy of 'global Britain' going 'buccaneering once more, scaremongered the poor and uneducated English into voting to leave the EU. But the Brex-iteers had no Westminster majority, so despite the Six Counties having clearly voted to remain (ss.8% vs 44.2%) the tattered old Union Jack-waving alliance was reforged: Loyalist MPs were courted and bribed like it was 1796. Or 1886, 1912, 1970 or 198...

Farage says he has won by-election
'convincingly'
Nigel Farage tells GB News that he has won the Clacton by-election "fairly convincingly".
Speaking at a party put on for Reform UK volunteers in Clacton, Farage says: "I have managed to beat the establishment candidate."
• As a reminder, votes are still being counted and a final result is expected in the coming hours.

If white working class boys are the lowest performers how will making Britain more meritocratic help them?
In a video published this week, he [Farage] stated that white working-class boys were "currently the lowest-performing group in the country's education system thanks to the Equality Act", and pledged that Reform UK would "scrap it and return Britain to a meritocracy.
" However, the official data Farage cites
contradicts both his education claim and the causal argument on which his case for repeal rests.
