Couldn't agree more... In my tiny hometown--Farmville, NC--it was Miss Day's store..."on the corner between HB Suggs (the one-time Black high school) and the railroad tracks."

And thanks for the comment about my brother. Stage IV cancer, so yeah... it's for a medical need. And even in his reduced health, it's not killing him.

Honestly, this public information because a crime was committed. I HOPE your ridiculous claim is to aggravate people and not evidence that you would believe anything other than the TELEVISED truth. The autopsy report is what enabled Chauvin's conviction. The trial and verdict hung on that. SMFH

George Floyd case results determined his death was a homicide. The official autopsy, along with an independent one conducted for the family, found that the cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.

So does my brother, sitting beside me. Fentanyl does mot ensure death, but choking someone to death does.

Raping who? But--to be clear--if he IS in those files as a "client," he can share a cell with allllll the rest of them. ABSOLUTELY!

I agree that happens in some instances, but it's naive to think that black men are not killed recklessly by police. It's a well documented, age-old issue, and "complying" does not guarantee survivalvfor US. It doesn't. It's not up for debate, and opinions contrary to decades of evidence is denial.

You DO realize that is an insanely illogical suggestion, right? Should a child who's being raped by its parent(s) inform its parents that he/she is hungry. Those charged with protecting and serving OFTEN commit heinous acts. When they are not, they still have to show up. Dumbazz.

I wonder if political "training" renders them incapable of reading the room... There is NO ROOM for compromise on this. We don't need to honor bigots. Period. That's where they F'd up after the Civil War, erecting statues of Confederate.

Sex-/able-/racism, trans-/homo-/xenophobia, and all other oppressive tendencies, preferences, and sick fantasies are not--have never been nor ever will be--"political ideologies." They're symptoms of "profound neuroses" whose host is white supremacy. They do not warrant debate or understanding. END

Still, the "stop" concerns his murder. It IS despicable and there's no room (in my view) to debate THAT. The governor, however... I'm here for it.

Why are HBCUs under threat because somebody shot Charlie Kirk? While he, an uneducated, hate-mongering racist, recruited in a state where blacks are barely 2 percent of the population, these students were pursuing knowledge thousands of miles away. What's the causal connection?

We remember 9/11 not only on this day, but every day—in the empty seats at our tables, in the loved ones still suffering from illness, in a skyline forever changed. And we recommit ourselves to building a future worthy of the courage and sacrifice of those we lost.
Twenty-four years ago, our city faced one of the darkest days in its history when nearly 3,000 lives were stolen in an act of terror.

We remember 9/11 not only on this day, but every day—in the empty seats at our tables, in the loved ones still suffering from illness, in a skyline forever changed.

Too many survivors and first responders have had to fight for the healthcare they deserve even more than two decades later. While some used this horrific act to divide us, and we remember the countless victims of wars abroad and bigotry at home in the years that followed, New Yorkers came together.

Even in the midst of unimaginable loss, we saw the best in each other. Firefighters climbed smoke-filled stairwells knowing they might never return. New Yorkers lined up for hours to give blood. Strangers became neighbors, washing the dust from one another’s faces.

Today, we honor the resilience of our city, which refuses to surrender to division and fear—and we recommit ourselves to building a future worthy of the courage and sacrifice of those we lost.

Clearly we knew they would. Some have been itching for civil war since Jan. 6--no doubt anticipating some glorious experience that exists only in their warped view of a past that never was--and we have a sitting president who could not care less for either imagined side.

Looks like America is about to exalt another racist to hero status. It's despicable that Charlie Kirk was shot. Full stop. But I take issue with Utah Governor Spencer Cox acting like being a vocal racist who spews hate somehow translates to something noble. It's not. It, too, is despicable.
