My parents didn't tell me my IQ score until I was in college, because they didn't want me to get an inflated ego or tease other kids about it or something. Mom did tell me what it was when I was like 22, but 20 years on and I can remember only that it was around something. No idea the exact number.

Due to delays, I once deplaned convinced I'd missed my connecting flight (the last of the day to my tiny regional airport). I got into the terminal and the attendant at the other gate yelled, "Are you [Seamyst]?" I said yes, and she yelled, "RUN!" So I did, and made the flight they held for me.

One reason I like the Moonreader app is that it tells you how long until the end of the chapter (in pages and minutes based on your reading speed) AND the book (in minutes, plus how far along you are by percentage).

Almost four years ago I managed to break my leg when I stepped down off the stairs onto the platform and fell. Ever since I've been careful to hold the handrail when stepping off the stairs, not just when I'm on the stairs themselves!

Okay so @defector.com has had an odd glitch since the site redesign a couple of weeks back where the wrong photo and headline are often put together on the main page and I was going to ask them about fixing it but this just happened and as far as I'm concerned they have to leave it as is.

I've been using Linux for *checks calendar* oh god 20 years now, how is this possible? Started off TRIPLE-booting with Windows on a MacBook; when that laptop died switched to a Windows laptop and dual-booted ever since then. It's so much easier to use now, though there're still BIOS issues to fix.

I grew up in the woods. The first time we got kittens, they stayed in the barn at night. One night an adult raccoon got in and went after them. One kitten survived, but the other was killed and mostly eaten. We kept our cats indoors at night after that.

I ordered this and set it up maybe a week ago, and both cats love it! Oliver, my teenaged boy who's very smart and easily bored, took to it right away. Molly, my middle-aged girl who only has 3 brain cells, just now figured out how it works. Thanks for the rec, I'm glad I bought it!
