The federal government has erased an important tool for enforcing our right to live in our communities. But it has not taken that right away. DREDF and several organizations condemn this administration’s abandonment of disabled Americans. Read more here: bit.ly/4dVqM8m
Text reads, “We Condemn the Federal Government’s Abandonment of the Right of Disabled People to Live in Our Communities.” Above the text, overlapping, brightly colored silhouettes of people with various visible and non-apparent disabilities, including several types of wheelchair users and people using mobility devices, walk as if in the community. The DREDF logo and full organization name appear at the top.

They're also claiming no one can sue to enforce construction standards, and that discrimination claims should require proof of "intent." This is a direct attack on disability rights. Sign on in opposition: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... [2/2]

SF's City Attorney is arguing in court that federal accessibility standards — the rules for doorway widths, ramp slopes, wheelchair turning space — are no longer binding in court, and don't clearly apply to parks, playgrounds, and rec facilities the City builds. [1/2]

This is not public health. It's an attack on the rights and autonomy of people with mental health disabilities. CA should invest in voluntary, community-based services — not force medications on people. [2/4]

Oppose AB 1676 before it's too late! This California bill now moving through the legislature would give the state power to transport people to locked facilities and forcibly inject them with long-acting medications against their will for months at a time. [1/4]
