After only a few months in operation, the original nylon jaw gear (#03-8471) in my RoadShow #pinball shattered. The game came with a spare, but turns out that one is a little oblong and jams up. Instead of ordering and waiting for another replacement, I fab'd and 3Dprinted one. lol #arcade

The jaw mechanism for a RoadShow (and Funhouse) pinball's puppet. The white gear is the orignal nylon and a number of its teeth are broken off. The black gear is the store bought replacement, but it's slightly oblong and jams up.

The red and yellow gears are PLA test prints, while the orange is the final 3D printed ABS replacement.

I deticated 10 years of my life to a business, and my award was to be "forgotten" about during the sale negotiations. I was then strung along for weeks about the future of my maintenance work with them, only to be given a frankly offensive proposal to do 2x the work for 1 quarter of my current pay.

Medal'd the easy and medium routes on my first and second playthroughs. I think my feelings are that StarFox26 is a good game... because 64 was a great game. It just doesn't seem to bring any new to the table besides a codex, cutscenes, and a fresh coat of paint. Which all feel like nice fluff.

New sound module installed on this Konami Wild West C.O.W.boys of Moo Mesa. The original modules are prone to leaky caps that eat up the sound circuitry. Looking forward to getting this game in a cabinet on the #arcade floor!

a thing about the ps1 aesthetic that is often forgotten in certain spaces is that the coveted ps1 vibe often comes from stellar art direction and artists, and not making your geometry and textures ugly.

ps1 low poly inside a wrecked ship, the bright sunlight outside shining in through the decayed and battered hull

Something I noticed on older #pinball is that they almost exclusively used wire forms for the return lanes. Laser cut sheet metal returns didn't appear until way later! Wanting to keep Voyager as period accurate as I can, its return lanes have been reworked into wire forms. #indiedev

Some 3D prints were needed to help with installing the wire forms.

Originally I was going to use modern sheet metal ball returns, and holes for these were already cut by the CNC machine. I printed a guide that uses the position of these obsolete holes as reference when drilling the new ones for the wire forms.

The red 3D print is a hight gauge. It ensures that the wire forms are hammered down to the correct distance from the playfield surface.

the mario galaxy movie is fun until the very end. it's sorta like climbing into a really fast car. things are zipping by and your just enjoying the spectacle, but suddenly the driver slams on the breaks and says the ride is over idk if they ran out of budget or runtime, it's hilariously jarring.

Got some time to install a bunch of playfield mechanisms in Voyager today! I'm still waiting on a 5 bank drop for the left side, another jet bumper, and a kick out for the hole near the jet bumpers. The last mechanism will be custom built! #pinball #indiedev

Finally gotbthe shooter lane cut for Voyager's playfield! I designed and 3Dprinted a guide for the router, then used a 1" diameter round bit. The deflection is a little too deep, I must've gotten it off by 1 degree, but it works just fine. #pinball #indiedev
