🦝today's the day we bring the refactored menu code into fox stamps and start rebuilding all of those menus (since the new system isn't compatible with the old one by design.) the menu base system isn't complete, but we work a lot better in a real environment where the code presents real challenges

🐭we're now at the point of the menu refactor where we're doing a bunch of like, internal technical stuff that we can't really make pretty videos out of but it's going really well so far. we'll have to redo all of fox stamps menus since they wont be compatible but it'll be WAY easier to do so

🦨a player gave feedback about fox stamps which revealed an interesting oversight we didn't even consider: piper is all over the game but she only introduces herself in the tutorial, so if you didn't see the tutorial, you have no idea who she is or why she's there. definitely gonna have to solve that

🦨people have been really enjoying fox stamps and have been saying it's really good, but unfortunately the amount of people playing it is not a lot. so far we're not really seeing the numbers or engagement counts we were hoping for, so we're probably gonna have to scale back our plans for features

🐭I kinda wonder if anyone ever tried to speedrun blobun? it's interesting because stephanie's movement is fixed so there's actually a known minimum time (which is lower than the sum of our dev times, which is just under 20 minutes) but it's like, good luck doing that consistently

🦊at the time we made blobun we had just come off of everyone telling us how much they hated the clocks during the next fest demo, so while the final game *does* have "fast times" and "dev times" there's no secret message if you get them all because of how much we wanted to de-emphasize it

🐿️apparently if you turn on the new "Cell Guard" feature, the tutorial override doesn't work on it and so Piper can't show you how to do the puzzle at all LOL very funny bug but unfortunately one of the ones I'm gonna try to fix today

🦝got a couple bug reports, it seems when I fixed being able to break out of "line lock" mode when stopping moving with gamepad/dpad, I broke "line guard" not overwriting existing marks when you move one cell at a time (so not in a line.) since we found a few other bugs, we'll be updating tomorrow

🦨fun fact about coco and fox stamps since it's her day and also the demo came out: if you compare your stamp page to mine, you'll find that they're not at the same angle. she made it so that everyone's stamp pages would have their own unique imperfections. it's small, but it adds a lot I think
