ok this guy needs to chill i think

An encounter between two scrooks at dusk. A hulking RUDGEOUS (freak) grasps a hyperactive OOCHIE (weirdo) right before it can gulp down a three-pronged herb poking out of the topsoil of the RUDGEOUS's garden.

often I don't know what's actually going on in an image until after I've finished drawing it the story is in the alt text, but can you guess?

Three scrooks. In the bottom-middle is an EBEERO, a pink weirdo-class scrook with two arms, two horns on its head, and a snaky body with a rattle on the end that looks like a nest with eggs. Feeling threatened by a ROOGEL, a dinosaurian doof-class predatory scrook, the EBEERO rattles its tail. Rattling the tail calls the attention of a GOFSH, a green doof-class scrook with two legs and two leathery wings. Believing the rattle to be that of its own nest being ruffled through, it opens its beak twice the size of its own body to squawk at the ROOGEL. A GOFSH's squawking isn't a credible threat by any means, but YOU try eating a meal with a stupid bird yelling in your ear and see if it goes well for you.

clean skies, blue days

A chrome-plated mech with a cone-shaped head standing under a vibrant blue sky(say that again). A halo-like object floats above the mech's head, and a small pilot in a black-and-orange jumpsuit sits on its shoulder.

I haven't drawn mechs very much lately, but I did once make a #LANCER pilot and his mech in blender... "FISHHEAD," and his swallowtail frame "THE FOSS"

kinda shloomed out for a while but I'm fine now

a scrook known as a BITTLEGUY having a siesta on a sunny day, under the shade of a tree that looks like a comically large version of a weed you might find growing in your backyard. Shoots of highlighter-green grass lazily chase the breeze.

Automatic defese system. That being said I envisioned Delta as being an experiment that tried to summon one that could be controlled by humans (since by design they kinda only appear when SHTF), didn't work as expected.

I consider myself lucky to have varied interests that inform my artwork, but if i didn't put my projects on hold with every new shiny idea i think i'd have gotten at least one finished by now lol. Not a unique problem by any means, but gah damn

I doubt I'll make a kaiju every day this month but for what it's worth it will give me a chance to flesh out the setting a lil :)

#kaijune 02 - OSPEANOS Earth's second kaiju was spotted nearing the island of Inishbofin, in Ireland. That's when the light-giant now designated "RHO" made its first appearance, dispatching the kaiju in short notice. OSPEANOS never made landfall.

A shaded sketch of the ultra designated "RHO" engaged in combat with the kaiju OSPEANOS. Flesh samples show Ospeanos is a chimeric combination of countless Earth animals, including orca, shrew, and osprey. Tiny, poisonous quills adorn its muscled back and tail. Rho, extruding its blade from its forearm, makes a bloody gash in Ospeanos's midsection.

#kaijune 01 - RIDORIS In early 2026, Earth's first kaiju appeared in Japan's Kitan Strait. Fishing crews attempting to rid the strait of a particularly nasty algal bloom with ozone unknowingly aggravated the kaiju, which had been using the unique algal bloom as an external digestive system.

A digital illustration meant to evoke a birds-eye-view photograph of a giant aquatic kaiju making waves across the open ocean. It has a white carapace above the waterline shaped like an arrowhead, or an aircraft carrier, with its large three-pronged snout, six eyes, and two rear tendrils submerged. A destroyer gets real close to it, itself dwarfed by the kaiju. Both leave behind heavy wakes in their path.

I wanna apologize to my writer friends who use the em dash, I took it as a sure-fire sign of slop until I actually looked up how it's used... I mean i still think it's a good indicator but I have to stop myself from using it sometimes in place of parentheses

It certainly would seem true often enough to be the case, until you find one that looks like nothing in the fossil record

Five different light beasts, three bearing resemblance to Hallucigenia, a trilobite, and a Tribrachidium, respectively. Below those three are two unidentified shapes, one in a semi-circular arc bearing six small spikes, the other being capsule-shaped with an eye-like ring on one end and six fronds on the other.

In 2025, the discovery and subsequent disturbance of subterranean "nodes" triggered sightings of massive unidentifiable luminous objects. These first encounters were low-concentration plasma with little to no solidity, unlike the subsequent "ultra" encounters of 2026 and beyond.

An illustration meant to represent a grainy photo of an titanic light-beast hovering at night over forested mountains in an undisclosed location. It resembles a Hallucigenia in its shape, or perhaps a giant ribcage, with 12 leg-like protrusions emerging from a central stem, terminated by a ring where a head might be. Faint traces of a forcefield or bubble envelop it, as if it were pushing reality out of the way as it flew.

emerging from the depths with a strong desire to make a new setting with my own original ultramen/kaiju

A boyish pop singer doubling as a paramilitary operative, his alien mentor, and his light-giant transformation (not to scale).

Six kaiju, from left: Benzius, an engineered organism created by aliens; Isaac, a false light-giant; an unnamed kite-esque creature; Claroclas, a mutant tube-worm; an unnamed mole-esque creature with a solid spike in place of a snout; Ladon, a chimera of deep-sea crustaceans.

A digital drawing of a small terracotta hut in an arid environment. Various quaint grasses and cacti dot the landscape, including a set of lilypad-esque crops to the left planted in rows. The hut itself is shaped like a cube with a sphere on top of it, with several holes along all sides and a flag poking out the top. A pair of SKEEMS fly overhead.

when going from single illustrations to doing comics i always forget that it's a different scale of effort bigger than just the current frame... ironic because "my comic panels are too beautiful" is such a weird problem to have, but sustainability is key... suffice it to say this is gonna rock

a nether enderman, a redesign of a redesign

Digital drawing of an Enderman native to the Nether. Unlike the classic Overworld endermen, the Nether's enderman population bear a tougher outer shell teeming with ridges through which faint shimmers travel. Firey foramen dot their shoulders, chest and feet. The being has noodle-like fingers which grasp blocks as easily as they grasp living beings, and long, stilted limbs give them the means to climb steep walls.

Digital illustration of Cannonbolt from the Ben 10 television series. He is a large black and white alien with yellow scutes all over his body. Included is his ball form, and a small illustration of him with his mouth extending all the way to his lower torso. Also included is a Ben for size comparison, barely half his height.

An illustration of a scout coming out of his landing pod not knowing he is being observed by an enormous beast.

Three little alien guys on the very cramped bridge of a spaceship. One is owl-like in appearance but without a beak or mouth visible, another is an orange dolphin-esque biped with webbed feet, and the third in the back is somewhat snail-like in appearance with eyes on long stalks.

Three little cartoon critters in a hollowed-out canyon hiding from a dark lumbering tyrannosaurid-esque creature with bared teeth. The blue and purple creature wearing sunglasses is frantically trying to get the attention of the tall dude, who won't stop mumbling a song and giving away their position.

all too late for #goblinweek but i've been mulling over the idea of goblinfolk derived from early cetaceans like Pakicetus/Ambulocetus, still semi-aquatic but sticking to the swamps and coasts instead of the open ocean life. they would probably love surfing tho

A digital illustration of a goofy-looking goblinesque creature surrounded by doodles of the same creature. The "gobphin" has looks to be derived from early cetaceans, with leathery skin and nostrils positioned atop the skull. Doodles, from top left: An orc (also cetacean-derived) looks frustrated at a worried gobphin; the evolutionary tree approaching fully aquatic cetaceans until it reaches the gobphin which says "Wait nvm" as it switches direction; a gobphin male singing its mating song with a female listening somewhat absent-mindedly; two gobphins excited to raid some poor soul, one in the air with bared claws and the other holding a bony khopesh.
