More rulesets should have a subtitle listing exactly what kind of game it is and what materials you can use to play with it. I especially like the inclusion of pencil, because the rules do actually insist that you use pencils.

I happened to have this map lying around waiting for a project, so here's the initial Section A map right off the bat. I'll spend the rest of the phase keying!

What's the phrase? Something borrowed, something new, something hypo-diegetic...

Yes! It requires intentionality, but it can be really rewarding with the right people. Here's the most complete map that my players have drawn to date (after finally connecting two areas) and it's been so cool to see it take shape

I use a week-by-week calendar organized by 3-month seasons. Mostly it's useful to figure out which characters are free to adventure on a given week.

Yes! It's a down-ramp corresponding to one of the spirals on this map of the level above it. That particular ramp is the upper-leftmost spiral.

Picture of text which reads thus: If you find an historically unreasonable tactic by squeezing a tank column between two paragraphs of rules, don't do it! For those of you who want to win and don't care whether or not it's realistic as long as it seems to be in the rules, try this one. When your opponent leaves the room, remove his units from the map and place them in the dead pile. This is legal. I just said so. You have just won the game. Are you happy? Now go find another opponent and another game--please.

I use the term more generally for "things that require effort when playing the game" whether that effort is strategy or bookkeeping or communication or conceptualizing. It's the gap between intention and move. So definitely related to your 3.
Screenshot of a blog reading: ...So patient struggle is the substance of Nomic: being in a space with my fellow players trying to negotiate ourselves out of the present situation. The possibilities are endless and delightful, not because of frictionless liberty, but because of the elaborate friction-full texture that emerges from written procedures, physical realities, and human minds all trying to operate at tension with one another.

Photo of a typewritten page reading:

Worms are like squiggle noses that live in the sand
They spend their lives wandering underneath land
Arrogant, boisterous, card-playing hacks
Bartering oozers, collectors of tax
Care only for bolstering spec’lative gains

The Realm of Yolmi bestiary is conveniently grouped into: Men, Non-Human, Animal, Undead, Automatons, Flies, Sea, and Air which is great until you read the Disak and the Regik descriptions (Undead and Non-H, respectively)

This weekend I played my first super adventure mostly with Corundum Problema, a Yolmi fly-catcher who did quite well before dying to Thor. I also brought Orangeberry, a B&B character who didn’t do much other than instill fear in some cyborg apes.
