Not all injuries leave marks. Brain injury from intimate partner violence is often missed because symptoms can look like anxiety, forgetfulness, brain fog, headaches or dizziness. Recognizing IPV-BI is the first step toward connecting survivors with support. #IPVBI #EndGBV

Astrocytes do so much more than any of us thought - they even communicate among specific brain regions across hemispheres! The journey to this paper spanned nearly a decade, but I'm most excited to see what everyone else does with the tools we've built. There's so much for all of us to explore!

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month in Canada. At the DMCBH, researchers and clinicians are working together to understand how brain injury leads to disability, how to better diagnose these injuries, and how the brain can adapt to restore lost functions and abilities.
