Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

Friends, I very much celebrated the first lunch of October with a quickie thick stew thing (whadaya call something thicker than a stew that you eat with a spoon?): half a can of pumpkin, 2 slices of cheddar (melted), garlic oil, ginger oil, smoked paprika, cinnamon, onion powder, salt & black pepper

Time to draw Shelob for the LOTR set, and I'm sorry, but, "most like a spider she was" HARDLY means "she was a spider," it means that if you HAD to put her in a box, she probably gives spider-vibes because of the legs and the webs. The description is more lovecrafty than "them."

I'm doing a toy-or-costume wooden sword-making class at the Makerspace next month and, while I ain't gonna have time to make samples for the class flyer, I can sure enough draw said samples. Pine lattice strips for costume version, Kentucky hickory for the wack-tree-trunks-and-each-other version.

My latest is a hard reality check about the absolute abyss between the gentry-marketed "recovered" Asheville and the actual, struggling city most of us live in. Evictions restarted before the water was even back on and city hall's far more obsessed with spying on locals than aiding them.

Did I forget to give one of the guys a sword until it came time to color? I did! One of the bonuses of doing everything yourself is that, in addition to doing editing passes, you also have the opportunity/requirement to edit at each stage of development. This one made it four passes before caught!
